The Conservative Party

Says all you need to know about the new BBC boss “Mr Sharp is a major donor to the Conservative party.”

Conservatives - what are they like eh?

Odd thing is I heard Sunak worked for him at Goldman Sachs and then he came on board to work for Sunak when he became chancellor - Sunak is angry that his close friend and learned ally has been "stolen" from him - do you think thats Johnson realising the shit he is in and trying to nullify a threat?

They might be deplorably inept fuckers and they can’t expect everyone to do exactly as they tell them to... but I fucking expect them to!

There’s far too much of this attitude of letting people off for being as big a set of cunts and have as big an impact on spreading covid as the idiots in government.

You have to be one very special **** to not follow the covid rules just because the government are inept. Every individual in the country has a responsibility to every other individual in the country, it’s not up to the government to hold our hands through this or anything else.

Does Boris come and set everyone’s morning alarm clock for them? Does Williamson get them dressed? Does Hancock make their butties for them to take to work while Patel drives them to work and then Sunak has their tea ready for them when they get home? Does Raab wash them in the shower? Then does Boris finish their day off by rolling back the bed covers and shagging their wife for them?

Would we be aimlessly stumbling around the wilderness without them?

No!

We all have brains, we have a common sense of decency and rationality, and we should all be following the rules even if every single one of the government wasn’t every day.

We have an earlier contender for post of the season. Take a bow sir

Probably too busy scratching round for mates and Tory party donors to provide the connections for multi million pound contracts to take up the BT offer

Great post.

People don’t want to think for themselves, they want the government to do absolutely everything for them and they’ll give away liberty for comfort.

Took my mam for a covid jab today, very impressed. It was well organised and very efficient. I have never in my life seen such an eclectic mix of perambulation aids gathered in one place.

Kudos to the tories for actually getting something right.

They are still cunts though.

pmsl - the audio and video of their fawning is there to be seen

Funny ain't it, Corbyn was widely condemned for his stance on Trump, he was called all sort of adjectives for his stance.

Looks like someone was correct in his stance, not that you will see it in the media.

Yep - I bet these clips get lost quite soon

He was right about internet being a utility as well .... despite the number on here saying it was unaffordable madness.

I almost ran home after getting off the bus after work today to get away from people.

It was quiter on the roads and pavements between Christmas and New Year before the full lockdown came in.

WHERE IS EVERYONE GOING?!
It's not for you to tell people what to do. People decide for themselves.

This is a powerful and useful social idea. We'd not get very far without it. But it's gone a little bit far.

Many people won't take any message that contradicts it. They get angry at anyone else introducing something they didn't already consider that worries them, or might cause them to feel guilt.

We've said 'that's ok' a little to often. The wisdom of the crowd swings from one belief to the other. I believe in the current environment, people are basically cowtowed into not pointing out the predictable future, or asking people to take wider responsibility.

This is the mob doing this. Not Boris. He is facilitating them. He does as little as possible to interfere.

He has no choice politically but to make those statements and take those measures, because if he didn't, he'd risk legal liabililty, and the liability of NHS leaders and others would mean they'd all have to resign, blame him, and he'd be toast.

So when he does what he has to, he makes sure he undermines it. People stop listening to someone who U-turns. Just make sure they were heading in the direction you wanted before the last u-turn.

It's called having your cake and eating it. Transparent as fuck to many, but... not really provable. It's part of his rather impressive narcissistic toolbox.

History will judge.

The stupidity is that it looks like it might all be a massive false economy. We might have large numbers of the workforce sick for quite a long time. They'll need treatment and support, which all costs.

But those facts, that analysis, is not available. Is anything clear these days? We're buried in mountains of reports, studies, statistics (why have one number of deaths when you can have several?), targets.

And messaging that is exquisitely sliced into what he says to the concerned, and what he's ok with everyone else taking away.

Lockdown is very important guys or sth boo his lockdown I know really har har, but look at these vaccines that I'm going to talk about instead! 2 Million guys! Wow! Best in the world!

Then turns up with the army to 'get tough'. Bullshit. It's a strong man signal sent in the same direction. He's still the boss you know.

What ever happened to parliament anyway?

I laugh, I really do. How people can't see this as the meat and drink of his operation, and how it overlaps so clearly with Trump's tactics over the years.

The rule of law? Diminished. Institutions. Bypassed. Facts are obscured. Everything is appearances. Everything is now politics.

The words aren't important. No one really cares about the law. Just follow the leader!

It's not facism. But it's their technique.

We're in so much shit now. No one could use their brain, even if they wanted. It's all about emotion.

Bravo Britain.

Bravo.

So that's cabinet ministers and Boris' dad jumping the vaccine queue. Why am I not surprised?
We’ve already been over this, Stanley is 80, he’s not jumped any queue, he’s in the criteria of those up for vaccination first.

Sigh.
