The Conservative Party

The media love portraying politicians wife as wearing the trousers. Hardly original and obsession on climate policies apart doesn’t seem to be true
She doesn’t wear the trousers, she just understands the media and populist view. Why do you think the government are so wishy-washy, it’s when Johnson gets home that he realises he‘s made a boo-boo.

Just trying to work out your last sentence and hoping you are not belittling the climate issue. This issue really is real.

Carrie is big on the environment.
Boris is obsessing over it.
You suggested Carrie is in charge.
Perhaps that’s why.
Do you think boris is naturally that fussed about it?
Didn’t appear to be in jetting back

Starmer's said "Johnson is leading his troops through the sewer". That's as near as you can get to "lower than vermin" without calling them rats, or scum (which now hardly seems worth apologising for).

shame everyone will forget this and say in a couple days ‘where’s Starmer’ ‘Tory in disguise’’ etc etc - he hammers the tories and Boris consistently all the time but half of Labour still don’t take to him. So frustrating

From what I see, Starmer and the team are doing quite well outside a GE.

It is a shame the LD and Labour can't come to an agreement and put out 1 candidate between them.
It was mooted that the opposition parties might coalesce around one anti-sleaze candidate, ala Martin Bell, but Labour now seem intent on standing their own candidate, so presumably it’ll be an open field.

From a broader political perspective, it might have been more politically damaging for the government had an independent anti-sleaze candidate stood, especially if it led to a victory.

It’s a solidly safe seat, however, and almost always been Conservative. Indeed, Paterson had around a 22,000 majority in 2019 and he’d been the sitting MP since 1997, when Blair’s Labour cut the margin to 2,000 odd, but that’s as close as they’ve ever come in generations.

Not sure I understand Labour’s logic here, as another Conservative victory, which I would expect, will only reinforce the idea that Starmer isn’t making sufficient inroads. The Conservatives had created an unexpected open goal, yet now doesn’t seem like the right time for Labour to use it as a barometer for Starmer’s popularity.

View attachment 292562nd day in a row now the loyal Fail directly attacking Johnson an his government is the tide starting to turn?
Perhaps the Fail is scared their readers might ask why the paper usually offers full support to the sleazy corrupt twats. Is this a step too far for those who support all the other lunacy carried out by this party, or are the Fail worried readers might finally open their eyes to the other stuff?

Bercow would stand the best chance.

You are talking about Daily Fail readers these guys are fed a regular diet of migrant bashing, flag waving and denying there is anything wrong with Brexit. It seems that this stunt pulled by Johnson was unacceptable and that's taking on board the exceptionally low bar in moral standards the fail has.

fuck me -

BBC - "The committee are satisfied that Owen Paterson broke the rules he is adamant he is not guilty what do you think?"

Zahawi " I haven't actually read the report....."

BBC - "Haven't read it but you voted on it? "
