The dentist

My Mam died through avoiding the dentist. Her teeth were really bad, but was terrified to go and ended up getting septicimia and died within a week. Doc said it was flu, eventually got took to hospital but too late.

If you brush your teeth twice a day 7 days a week you should be fine..

Oh and get to the dentist twice a year at least..

Generally means you will have nice white teeth..

Bloody hell got a text on Saturday saying I was de registered as I missed an appointment.
Been with the same surgery since 2010 and that was my first missed appointment. Its scandalous that they can throw you of their books for just missing one appointment in 13 years.

I had to write a growling email asking to be re registered. They have agreed to take me back on.

Its ridiculous that dentist have that much power. If they hadnt taken me back I wouldn't have stood a hope in hell of finding another dentist.

Its a shambles, my 90 year old mum lost a tooth the other day, absolutly no hope of a NHS dentist & the hoops you have to jump through just to get a private appointment is a nightmare.

Tis every 3 months now too for a checkup
At my dentists, some check ups are three months, all my family are six months. I have no idea what the criteria is they use. With so many folk unable to get to a NHS dentist, you’d think they’d move everyone over to 12 months check ups unless there are problems and each dentist know which patients can do 12 months. In fact, my previous dentist did used to have us all on a 12 month review and it was only because the practice closed when she retired that we had to move to this other practice along with all the other patients. If you fail to attend the check up appointment, you have an 18 month grace period before you are struck off.

My mate who's quite a big lad got told by his private dentist that he could no longer attend unless he lost weight as the dentist's chair wasn't insured to take his weight. What a way to run a business!
I advised him to tell them where to go and register elsewhere.
