I never understood chicken in a basket. As if a plastic basket is a selling point.Once had chicken in a basket in a pub in Leeds, that came with Gravy. Didn't end well tbh
Yeah I know, we moved over to full composstable disposables for any take away we would sell as part of a sustainablilty commitment, but after covid and the present food shortages/price hikes we went bck to cheap alternatives as otherwise we would need to add the cost onto the customerThe problem with the fish and chip shop sector is that it’s a low margin race to the bottom for 90% of the businesses. From the oil, to the ‘vinegar’ through to the packaging, cost is the most important factor for most takeaways, especially with the present cost of white fish and oil.
