The end of Dzeko

Fantastic finisher inside and out of the box with both feet and his head but doesn't have anything else in his game. Balotelli/Aguero/Tevez do.

There is nothing wrong with that but Mancini just can't fit him in our team which revolves around 4 attackers moving around, playing quick sharp passes and pulling out moments of skill which beat players and then finishing. Dzeko can only do one part of this. Which is unfortunate.

I will be sad to see him go but i know he will go on to score plenty of goals.

I think your sentiments are about spot on. He is a world class finisher but his style seems to be pulling in a way that does not seem to be our direction. I think he would be a top scorer in a place like Italy. Just seems like it would fit his style.

The only blame should go on the committee and the people who decided to sign him, Dzeko could have been a success if we played in a different way. We don't know for sure who made the final decision but this is the sort of signing that justifies the City haters' taunts that we have a scattergun transfer policy, just buying who is hot at the time.

We bought a player almost completely incompatible with the coach's vision of the club's style and as such he's not been able to deliver consistently, just in short bursts. This whole signing feels like Ibrahimovic at Barca, both have scored plenty of goals without ever really suiting the system.

Some of the suggested replacements could have similar struggles so Mancini or this round-table committee needs to choose the next big money striker signing carefully. Llorente is probably a bit more compatible with a highly technical system but could still fail to excel in it. The slightly lower profile Soldado from Valencia would seem a better fit to our system as one random example.

"At this time, Edin is fine at Manchester City and he has no plans to change team.

"So Juventus don't fall into his plans. Currently this possibility doesn't exist.

"However, the boy has a very high assessment for all European clubs."

"He will remain at City 100 per cent."

gonna hurt our transfer plans.

That may happen. Besides Dzeko there are few other players who fit the same profile who were overpaid by Man City and who are currently on high wages. Dont you think that City's management have somewhat carelessly spent the Owners money and have overpaid for many players and are still dashing out outrageous wages for players ?? Now since the high bar has been set, every player who wants to come city is demanding 2x-3x more than at their current clubs..

I`m not a fan of selling players in a year tact and Dzeko fitted in some City`s difficult games. Even he came from Germany he has settled in easily to a new country and teammates. We have to be serious we can`t have four Agüero`s in team there should be key players in some difficult matches and i think Dzeko was the right man for the moment. If City will sell him they should get former players back who are on loan.

OK so which 'difficult' City games did Dzeko turn ?

Well i can remember the first game against Tottenham also the first game against Wigan which we've won 1-0 away. I mean of course, Dzeko was more an addiction than a key player but it`s easier to keep a player than getting a new player every year.
