The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

I think they sold them on, possibly to a tram network that already had those models… they were pretty crap - constantly breaking down compared to the current fleet.
All scrapped apart from half a dozen or so that are static exhibits or stored unserviceable.
The later 6 built for the Eccles line only did 15 years services, fuckin criminal that.

The proposals are to extend the existing parking scheme near the Etihad Stadium to operate every day from 12 noon to 11pm, and include all of the surrounding streets'

These proposals will see the end of all on street parking in both none residential and residential areas alike at all locations around the Etihad.

Areas where free unrestricted parking is currently permitted such on Briscoe Lane, Riverpark Road (behind the old abattoir and Philips Park cemetery), Clayton Lane and many others will end and new restrictions which will prohibit all none permit holders from parking.

The proposal even plan to implement residents parking only restrictions on streets where no residential dwellings exist, there aren't any houses on Eccleshall Street (the were demolished 15-20 years ago) in Clayton, but low and behold they are restricting the full length of the carriageway on both sides to some none existent residents.

Anyone effected by these proposals can log an objection, but you will need to be quick, they need to be in by 16 March 2023.

Any chance of the club putting in an objection? Something City Matters could raise?

More idiots like me on the blue car park then, like whacky fucking races trying to get off their at best of times
I gave up using the blue car park after sitting in a queue for nearly an hour after a night match and then being held up by stewards to allow other stewards out of the car park before everyone else.
It nearly caused a punch up and the stewards in cars were just laughing.
Joke organisation, always has been. It will only get worse.

When that bomb went off at the Paris ground, they immediately stopped using it, for about a year from memory. But then they started up again, so you’d have to assume the security issues had been addressed satisfactorily.

They then stopped again and I heard it was a funding issue. The train company were happy to run it but didn’t want to be out of pocket and United apparently weren’t interested in subsidising it.

That’s what I heard anyway. Can’t say for sure it’s true.
I believes it's cos the Rags want to control outer perimeter match ticket checks.
Another example of Mcr's (no jokes) fucked up transport system.

Railways that are closed more than open, train operators that dont give a shit and just cancel services, shit Metrolink.
Piccadilly creaking at the seems yet the old terminus at Mayfield remains derelict.
A Railway that runs right past the Etihad but no consideration to reopening the viaduct that leaves the main line at Ardwick and a new station by the ground.

Manchester and it's leaders are a fucking joke.

Build all this accommodation in the city centre yet try to introduce clean air zone and have the shittest public transport network of any major city.

Yea,I was stuck on it after we played Spurs that Thursday night, absolute shambolic it was.

Not one for leaving early, but we did last Sunday came off in 87th,it made a bit of difference in getting off it,but it's not ideal that.

There are plenty stewards/car park attendants/kids whatever, fucking guiding you on every 5 metres, but hardly any **** to be seen at FT.

Andy Burnham and MCC are a bunch of dickheads, they think because there's a small, unreliable, very slow tram servicing less than 1% of the area of GM we should all be on public transport to and from every game.

We don't live in London.

Can expect £30 event day parking on the offsite car parks when the arena is up and running.
The issue of parking was the final nail for me last year.
I have to drive in to games and the old parking season ticket worked well for me.
when that went it just felt like too much hassle so I reluctantly let my ST go.

No one can complain about the early leavers when this kicks in. Valid reason.

I stand corrected. :-)

reading up, they suffered from corrosion (Lancia's of the Tram world...) and would have cost a fortune to fix.
