Quite happy to take the millions to redevelop the area though, hypocritical cunts.Just my tuppence worth on MCC and these new parking restrictions.
A few years ago, just before the council extended the parking restrictions further up Briscoe Lane, I had a meeting with my local Councillor - June Hitchen about local neighbourhood problems.
The meeting was held at one of her clinics in the community centre at the top end of Briscoe Lane, near to the Post Office.
After I had finished discussing my problems with her,I mentioned about the proposals to extend the no parking zone further up Briscoe Lane - upto where Briscoe Lane Primary School is situated.
I mentioned that I park my car on that part of Briscoe Lane (near to Ten Acres Lane) and that it would be a chore for me to park elsewhere.
Her reply was that MCC didn't like football fans, and they would do everything they could to discourage them from parking near to The Etihad.
And from next season,it looks like her words are going to really take effect in the areas around the ground.
The lad I sit next to started to do that. We sit towards the family stand end and at the final whistle he always made a swift exit to get to the metro link station before the queue became horrendousDump the car at Ashton park and ride. If the car park is full, there's a retail park across the road. Hop on the tram. It takes 20 minutes to the ground. No running the gauntlet or driving around like a loon trying to dump the car. It's the same on the way back. 20 mins to the car you are on the M60 and away before most people have even got half a mile from the stadium.
People who happily sit in traffic for an hour before and after every game are either really lazy or just enjoy misery.
Obviously by rag scum by the sound of it.The lad I sit next to started to do that. We sit towards the family stand end and at the final whistle he always made a swift exit to get to the metro link station before the queue became horrendous
He came to one game and said he’s not park and riding again as nearly all the cars, including his, had had their tyres slashed
I've seen the chaos getting on trams at Mercer way and it'll get worse next season so fuck that. Plus there's the extra cost of tram fares involved.Dump the car at Ashton park and ride. If they accept us. Might end up on Hough End.These problems will disappear next season when we're in the National League.
