The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

I've seen the chaos getting on trams at Mercer way and it'll get worse next season so fuck that. Plus there's the extra cost of tram fares involved.

The Ashton park and ride wont be an option mate, looks like the route to and from Ashton will be out of action for at least a couple of years from next season.

Dump the car at Ashton park and ride. If the car park is full, there's a retail park across the road. Hop on the tram. It takes 20 minutes to the ground. No running the gauntlet or driving around like a loon trying to dump the car. It's the same on the way back. 20 mins to the car you are on the M60 and away before most people have even got half a mile from the stadium.

People who happily sit in traffic for an hour before and after every game are either really lazy or just enjoy misery.
Even that's gonna be knocked on the head soon due to the HS2 causing trams to stop from Ashton.

Even more reason for it being a load of bollocks then..!
Like I said if they stop me parking then my 45yrs as a season ticket holder will end.

The lad I sit next to started to do that. We sit towards the family stand end and at the final whistle he always made a swift exit to get to the metro link station before the queue became horrendous
He came to one game and said he’s not park and riding again as nearly all the cars, including his, had had their tyres slashed
The likelihood of that being a regular occurrence is pretty slim. And the retail park, opposite the tram parking, is enormous with loads of on street parking if you don't want to leave it outside the shops.

Slightly off topic, but.

Bev Craig and other councillors at Manchester City Council can’t even keep the streets of Manchester litter free and clean and tidy, so there’s not a chance in hell that useless rabble can sort the transport problems out in (East) Manchester.

What about the wait for the tram, which is only going to get worse because of the huge increase in people having to use it, plus when everyone starts parking at the park and ride, that'll fill, so more will use the retail park, then that will introduce a time limit, and the residents will complain about matchday parking, so a residents zone there will be introduced
