The end of the Conservative Party?

The Tory right won't wander off into the wilderness and start their own party, for the same reason the Labour left won't.
I had a strange dream last night that Johnson announces the creation of a new political party he will lead that will be called the British Party.

It’s not the end of the Tories unfortunately people are brainwashed by the media tv programmes, even people who voted Labour all their lives switched sides and voted for control of our borders and Brexit they thought it was wrong to re nationalise I blame TV

The mechanics of a split are already there. The Reform party are the latest in a long line, The Brexit Party and UKIP have been and mostly gone. The Tories lurched to the right to avoid losing voters to this mob. But Truss took that far right fantasy as far as it could go and from here on they have to row back for economic credibility. Brexit is damaging the economy and again they need to row back. So its a given that the hard line brexit support base will jump, the question is will the ERG types sit on their hands. And on the basis the membership are more loony than the senior back bench MPs and party officials that run the party how long will they the status quo last. The tory party is not very democratic - it is designed to allow a small pool of characters significant power - that power now is with the wets. But will that change over time?

Mogg would not be tweeting rubbish like this if everyone in his party agreed with him. The majority don't.

It's a bizarre stance.

I doubt there are many who think that the EU laws should be left as they are, and not that they are incorporated/replaced.

What is very much in question is that just putting a line through them is a good idea without due (or in fact any) consideration of what will replace them.
That is of course the whole point - all those pesky laws that Mogg hates and wants to get rid of. It's not that they are derived from EU law, it's that they offer protection that he wants to get rid of.

So not bizarre at all then, the Sovereign individual quite rationally wants them all gone.

You might think it bizarre that he thinks he can wool over everyone's eyes in pretending it's in their interests, but then there are idiots that fall for obvious lies written on the side of a bus.

It is literally disaster capitalism. Let it all burn and let people / business do what they want.

Its all fun and games until the most basic health and safety and workers rights law falls away and people realise this stuff has real consequence.

It will be interesting to see how this progresses as Mogg set the law and it passed but the current cabinet wont want to deal with the mess.

It is a game but deleting EU laws is pure fantasy politic and thanks to Truss this is unlikely to happen, the tories are all over the place ungovernable. Sunak is literally holding on by his fingertips trying to keep this shitshow together. There is nothing that any government could do with any meaning right due to Trussonomics. The next couple of years is going to be fire fighting just to keep our heads above water economically. Some commentators are even saying we are likely to need a bail out from the IMF at some point.

"Economlc mistakes" you say?
Khazi Kwarteng and Liz Truss should be made to face a judge and jury regarding their treasonous acts of larceny.
