No good for our injured players and safe for us. It's a nightmare out there. Someone will be killed on the roads. It's only football. Fuck it.

It's just annoying it was left so late that's all
Fair enough. Silly that given the warnings all the day that the police didn't call it sooner

Yes, the red weather warning for the North-west was announced late morning, I did think it might be called off then but once it wasn't I assumed it wasn't that bad in Manc. Oh well, better than anyone getting seriously hurt.

sorry .... if you think strong winds can't enter an open-top area stadium, then you are a bit thick, in my informed opinion.
Fucking brilliant. Someone at home is arguing with someone in the stadium over whether it's windy in the stadium. Can't beat Bluemoon at times.

not arguing that its windy in the stadium at the moment, but if the winds got worse then it would affect things within the stadium if the game went ahead, hence one of the reasons, why the game was called off.

it was common sense to decide not to go myself tonight because of the forecast earlier in the day.
Conditions inside the stadium had nothing to do with the decision. If it did, Stoke would never have a home game.

I presume you didn't go to Everton when it was minus seven degrees celcius and Fulham when it snowed then?

my wheelchair doesnt have 4WD for the snow lol

Fair enough, you are excused. ;-) Just pointing out that it wasn't stupid to go to the game tonight in expectation that there would be a match. It might well have been stupid for reasons of personal safety however... Have we ever had a game postponed an hour before kick off at the Etihad? I remember one being postponed for ice around the stadium but I think that was postponed several hours beforehand.

Yep, the derby in the Carling Cup was postponed mid-afternoon.

The day before wasn't it?

Snow and ice were falling from the roof around then, and the outside ticket office kept shutting cus of it.

Well played GiMPs.

Left my gaff in Widnes at 5.50 (after begging my boss to be let out early after the two and half hour 25 mile commute to the Chelsea game last Monday) and was on Regent Rd when I heard the news at 18.40.

Wouldn't mind betting 99% of fans (Blues & Mackems) were either there or in transit at that time.

Wonder why they called it off so late - not like it's been beautiful weather all day is it?
