The best player I've seen in the flesh was Matt le Tissier. He was though, a little too inconsistent so .... Bergkamp wins it ....delivered magic nearly every game he played in.

Zidane and Bergkamp had this aura about them, and were so graceful on the ball. Poetry in motion, seemed like slow motion at times if you get what I mean, never rushed.

I guy called Cha Bum-Kun he was South Korean and played in Germany before Germany had many none European players. I guess the nearest thing to him in English football today would be Frank Lampard, but he was more of a goal scorer than Lampard and more flair.

never heard of him, but just checked him out on YouTube. Nice one. he could play at bit. Of the time when hacking him down was quite acceptable. So they did.

Of course he was a rag and therefore my opinion holds much weight for my obvious bias for everything blue, but as a true football fan, i have to hold my hand up and say....

George Best for me

I was lucky enough to have watched City in the late 60's and early 70's when the derby's were indeed very special, just for the players around at that time, putting it mildly Best was simply unplayable and a genius......

Due to some strings pulled by my best pal, Rodney Marsh (None other!) came to my recent birthday bash and the stories he told about Best were unbelievable and funny, real funny bonking Miss World before an important game at The Swamp was just one he told!
