The Guardian destroys Ian Wright

Spot on.If you don't like it Mr City then fuck off to another club you've done it once before but this time it will be to a much lesser club than us.I'd be highly embarrassed to have my Dad ringing up radio stations and crying poverty on my behalf If I was a multimillionaire when most the country are skint, even more so if he was Ian Wright.

So Platt Lane is a district now, is it?

Once again this clown kids on he knows what he is talking about.

Platt Lane, funnily enough, it just a lane, simple as.

The district is Fallowfield.

Platt Lane is in one of Manchester's more unloved districts

? Not sure what you're saying - he says Platt lane is 'in' an unloved district, this presumably being Fallowfield?

Could be Rusholme though.

But not Moss Side as its about 1/2 away from the boundary.

;-)

It is not Rusholme, pal. Nowhere near. Even when it approaches the top of Platt Lane and junction of Wilmslow Road, the boundary of Rusholme starts.

Moss Side pretty much finishes before Thornton Road, back of old Kippax.

This is where I grew up, Moss Side is a strange boundary in that, those who didn't want to associate with living there, wrongly called the top of Llloyd Street South (after Parkside Pub) Fallowfield.

It goes down as far down Moss Lane East and as wide across as over Princess Parkway.

I don't think he says that Platt lane IS a district... he says it is IN a district...

Pedantic, I know.

But you started it!

Lol, I love pushing peoples buttons on that one.

I too was brought up there, on the aforementioned Thornton Road - Number 94 - and my dad always said it was Rusholme and he was brought up on Bowdon Avenue not too far away.

It really does depend who you ask though

That makes me smile.........

Too slow with your pedantry! Two posts up ;)

SWP has a point (if he's making one). He's better than some of the players who are being paid more than him.

Agreed. He's hardworking on his day, as proved in the Egypt friendly the other night.

Shame he isnt producing the goods often enough and at a high enough level though.

£70k a week is a fair price to pay for a player who will no doubt want a move for almost any reason if he listens to his gobby dad
