The Guardian destroys Ian Wright

Agreed. He's hardworking on his day, as proved in the Egypt friendly the other night.

I don't think he has a point at all. Don't get me wrong, I love the little fella and he's a bloody good player. However, he's not a great player and let's face it, he's probably not going to get any better than he is now. I think he should take a moment & ask himself if any other club in the country is going to offer him 70K a week.
Thank God we have articles like this to combat the shite talked from Ian Wright,^^^this^^^ is the sensible post,and you lot splitting hairs about the journos use of grammar regarding platt lane is quite pathetic really.

It wasn't the grammar. The pedants just hadn't seen a big "in" making the article wholely correct in its claim that Platt Lane is not in the most loved district.

But SWP is being a money grabbing git.

Could be Rusholme though.

But not Moss Side as its about 1/2 away from the boundary.

;-)

It is not Rusholme, pal. Nowhere near. Even when it approaches the top of Platt Lane and junction of Wilmslow Road, the boundary of Rusholme starts.

Moss Side pretty much finishes before Thornton Road, back of old Kippax.

This is where I grew up, Moss Side is a strange boundary in that, those who didn't want to associate with living there, wrongly called the top of Llloyd Street South (after Parkside Pub) Fallowfield.

It goes down as far down Moss Lane East and as wide across as over Princess Parkway.
Jeez; some memories in those names. I was born on Claremont Road (near the junction with Broadfield Road). As for the Rusholme/Fallowfield debate; looking at the Google map of the area below;

And Platt Lane being the blue line, logic would say that it is in Rusholme. What it's actual "official" postal address is though, I'm not sure!

I feel a when I was a lad - all this was fields thread coming on

Lol at the praise for the fat ginger twat Paul Scholes!

Who else other than that shower of shit would offer a 94 year a contract anyway? Especially one who looks like a pig and has no right to actually play football due to the fact he's a big fat cheating dirty prick.

Anyway, I'm off to my house in the 'unloved' area of Platt Lane, can't help but wish I was from the Maine Rd district of Manchester though or perhaps that little area near town, Haciencda. Fuck me, the guy who wrote this is as much of a nob as Ian Nob Shite Wright.
