The Harry and Meghan fuss

Piers Morgan’s relentless campaign against her on GMB for several years just for ghosting him didn’t help her popularity. He exploited her father as part of this campaign. The irony being that Harry is being criticised for airing his own family’s dirty washing in public whilst Morgan and the gutter press have been actively digging up dirt on Meghan’s family.
 
With a wave of his hand, Charles could have stopped the media campaign against Meghan. It is unfortunate that the media and royal family are so intertwined in a web of promotion and privileged information that he chose not to, and his wife chose to feed the beast so that she was spared. It is sad for all concerned and, obviously, Harry has decided that he has to speak out.

I’ll never defend Morgan in this or anything else. He’s an absolute piece of shit.

Now it’s possible some of her detractors are motivated by racism but that appears to gloss over a lot.

A lot of what was written was complete bullshit. She basically got the Sterling treatment. This is the casual method they go about turning the people against someone. Works every time.

Some, yes. All? Unlikely.

It’s absolutely clear that Harry is vulnerable and domineered. A lot of people don’t admire those types of relationship and turn against either one or both parties.

There’s something of a parallel with the Beckhams, where both individuals are revered by many and derided by many.

Race isn’t always the prime motivator, even though that suits some agendas.

Think with her, it’s a combination of race, nationality, background and profession that always meant the tabloid media in particular were never going to judge or report on her the same way as they would someone like Katherine.

This is peak royal family for them though so ultimately, they’ll be absolutely loving it. The issue is too many people take what they report seriously and also there is real lives there, no matter how detached from reality they may appear at times. It’s as if people treat them as characters. None of us really know any of them properly.

Good post but I’d definitely add personality to the list.

Kate gives every appearance of being a kindly, wholesome, relatively humble and - crucially - dutiful person. She knew the rules, accepted them and was never going to rock the establishment boat. There’s simply nothing for royalists or the Press to dislike.

As for Meghan she’s, let’s put it politely, a little more worldly and ambitious.

Interestingly, it’s not stopped Kate from being shat on (allegedly) by her nearest and dearest. No surprise when adultery is a time-honoured tradition in the family.,
