The Holistic Approach

I don't think anyone is questioning the club's direction fundamentally, simply getting frustrated at hitting rough patches on the way.

99% of complaints are about the manager down, everyone above that is doing their jobs perfectly.

The manager's on his way in the summer. Even those complaints are beginning to sound incredibly hollow and very much the work of people who seemingly cannot bring themselves to have any vision beyond the end of their nose.

I think it's a genuinely fair thing to ask. If people for example are calling Begiristain a fraud then their beef should be with Mansour and Khaldoon. The guys who put Txiki in that position of power.

Let's just hope our performances don't drop any lower before the end of the season. We can't keep having performances like last nights and have hope of a champs league place, let alone win the title. We really have to keep the players and manager focused

Funnily enough I didn't think we were that bad up until Everton's goal went in last night. However it's true 2nd half we were pretty lamentable. Overall though everyone involved knows their responsibilities. Top 4 really isn't an issue at all. The issue is getting players like Silva to pull their fingers out and start performing like they are supposed to. Some of our 'experienced' and 'top' players have been nothing short of lamentable recently, and no tactics can account for that.

Is this your word of the week mate? haha

Spot on......Silva looks to have lost 1/2 a yard of pace and is being pick pocketed all the time now. Aguero is no lone striker either, he needs a partner up front but I can't see us swapping to 442 anytime soon (even against 10 men!).

I just wanted to remind myself(and everyonr else) of the holistic approach.

Is it still working?

Are there reports of unrest in the dressing room? Is the manager calling out board members in the press? Is the manager calling out players in the press? Is the general image being portrayed from the club one of harmony or disaffection?

I would say we're portraying an image of harmony despite things not quite being up to standard in terms of first team results. So yes, I'd say it is still working.

I think you can be critical of aspects of the boards performance and be supportive of the board/owner as a whole.

Personally, theres a few things I don't like about the way things are going at the top level of the club but I think they're doing a fantastic job so far.

As for the holistic approach, bit of management wank speak really. But I'm not sure it's working the way we would like to date.

We all are aware that Soriano used the term holistic as a dig at Mancini's style, right?

We all are aware what holistic means, aren't we?

Anyway, why would we be critical of the board when everything off the field is going well. On the pitch stuff rests with players and coaching staff

Usage of the word holistic has become too vague to be useful. It can be interpreted as relating to the concern of the whole rather than individual parts, but has also strayed into the realms of describing the use of alternative (and often controversial) methods. I really wouldn't read too much into the Soriano comment, as it's typical PR talk to portray a sense of calmness after the boat has been rocked. The media have managed to spin this for all it's worth.

Not just the media mate, City fans have had a good spin on it too.

We were terrible last night mate in the first half. Really poor. No drive, no hunger, no determination and constantly losing the ball in our own half.
When we did have the ball we just went sideways and back again. We made them look a lot better than they actually are
