The home brew thread

Its basically a bottle filler that onl.y allows the beer to flow while its touching the bottom of the bottle. Saves a load of arsing about with siphoning. Just do a search for the 'little bottler' and it should come up on various places. Comes with its own tap and the bottling wand/stick. I paid about £8 from the homebrew shop near me for one.

Wherry has been in for 5 days (and a bit) and has stopped bubbling already, in fact all the foam at the top has just about disappeared, is this normal?
With the IPA kit it was still there, even a little bit after two weeks. Slightly worried....

Brother in laws wedding today so missing the game (very inconsiderate of him I know).

Was going to bottle the muntons lager on Thursday but was still bubbling so leaving it longer. Its been in the bucket for 3 weeks and is reading 1006 from an SG of 1044.

Wherry is staying at 1012, few bubbles still popping up, one week in the frementer.

Have ordered another fermenter with a tap and little bottler, plus another beer kit.

Sounds good. Which kit have you gone for?

Ruby red is kegged but nearly had a disaster, the tap was leaking air around the seal, but with a bit of ptfe and vaseline the leak has stopped (spoke to brewuk this morning, and there is a fault with the tap, so they are sending a new one). Chardonnay is nearly ready for the next phase, and I've a coopers stout that may go on today, but I'm considering adding a can of treacle and spray malt to it prior to fermentation.

Gone for the American IPA Crabbers, usually £22.98 for a 40-pint kit, now £4 off using the code USA at <a class="postlink" href="http://www.brewuk.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.brewuk.co.uk</a>

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.brewuk.co.uk/beerkits/ab-ipa4kg-40pt.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.brewuk.co.uk/beerkits/ab-ipa4kg-40pt.html</a>

looks good to me £35.78 for the kit, a 25 litre fermenter with tap and little bottler.

Treacle? Why?
