The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

I know what you mean and you can call me a snob if you want but there’s definitely sorts of people who do this kind of thing, whether you want to believe that or not.

Watches ITV, gets their news from Facebook, etc.

Absolutely true mate but this country has managed to instil this greed into everyone, they had it all round the world to be fair.

The mad thing is the bog roll thing went viral after some twat filmed some other tests fighting in a shop in Australia!

I agree that the general public are, on the whole, a load of cunts.

The last great bogroll fiasco caught us out as a nation, it seems that everyone was at it not just "Gammony" people or "Karens". We are where we are, whatever colour religion or sex this country is packed with greedy arseholes.
I've just used up my last bog roll from the pandemic

Who stockpiles fucking sunflower oil?!

A little litre bottle lasts us about a year ffs.

Depends on your cooking habits surely.

If you eat a lot of deep fried food even with reusing the oil a few times it isn't going to last very long.

Not that I'm recommending such a diet.

Maybe people planning to use in cars or other machines with diesel engines?

Some people just illogically respond to the herd. Panic Bulk buying things that have short or shortish shelf life like eggs and butter.

I did bulk buy in 2020 but I just saw it as game theory and in response to others, about 40 quids worth of stuff including uht milk and frozen chicken pieces.

I didn't buy stuff with short shelf lives or take the piss. And would have shared it with housemates if they asked.

Putting sunflower oil into a modern Diesel engine is one of the most moronic ideas ever. It doesn’t have any of the additives and detergents that a modern engine needs to clean itself, let alone the DPF problems you’re going to get in the exhaust system.

I drive a high powered modern diesel. Regardless of costs at the pump it gets premium/super diesel only. Costs a bit more but you’ll save thousands on engine problems and a clogged DPF down the line.

Not that the fuckwits that still do it know/care.

Apparently it originated in Taiwan where a video showed how to make a better mask using a couple of bits of toilet roll then spiralled into Aus where it changed to the western madness.
