The idiocy (and selfishness) of panic buying

I notice no one has been on this thread admitting to buying three car loads of bog roll recently. I'm guessing they are waiting for the rest of us to die before posting?

Just did my first. Not for shortage, I doubt there will be one, but to not mix with potentially infected people in eventual crisis.

People panic buy because they see others do it empty shelves and panic buy them selves! If a video went viral that ketchup will have shortage people would buy boxes of ketchup

Went to Tesco for some paracetamol but all sold out. Then I noticed a shelf stacker sheepishly carrying a bag of something towards that area of the aisle. More paracetamol! But all the boxes crushed and torn, looked like they'd been trawling the stores for random packs that had fallen down the back of the warehouse shelves, under the fridge etc.

Still, bought 2 packs. It's madness, some of the aisles looked like a plague of locusts had been at them.
