The Ignore List

The ignore function is a load of shite, you don't like something then don't respond or engage, bit still read it, choosing only to hear things you like or agree with is not the point of a forum of opinions.

Even if I don't like some threads/posts/members I would never put anything or anyone on ignore.

Same goes for all my social media

It’s not about agreeing or disagreeing. It’s about whether the poster posts with respect etc. You can agree with someone and still think that they post like a ****.

Yeah I get that, tbf honest though any post can come across as cuntish in the written formal form, when someone may jist be posting with no malice

Also some posters are nobs and will pester and target another poster they decide they don't like, so I understand when people use ignore for that, bit in fairness when that is happening the report button should be used and Mods should be doing their jobs and sorting out the idiots

But there are some that see their arse over a topic and have a tantrum and do mass ignores because tgey have no counter arguement, those are the ones and the usage am on about.
 
I cannot say I have got to any point where I have disliked someone, probably as I stay out of the more contentious threads, such as the political stuff, and the match day thread.

No one as yet has made my ignore list either, unless by accident.

Some peoples views on life are pretty crazy though, and we defo have a few who’s online persona is pretty nasty and abusive.

The ‘like’ button is a double edged sword also. It looks sometimes like some posters love liking posts when a poster is calling out someone they dont like or have previously fallen out with. Poor form for me.

The irony is for all the “political thread is an echo chamber of leftists” bullshit in this thread, I am quite certain that by far the most ignored poster there thinks of himself as way left of everyone else who posts in it. He’s ignored because he’s an idiot and an asshole, not because of his political views.

I don’t share the political perspective of many who’ve complained about “leftism” in this thread, nor do I agree with a lot of the less-than-pragmatic left-leaners in the politics forums, but none are on ignore because they aren’t idiots nor assholes, and many of them have super-interesting football takes.
