The "Im not going to wembers thread"

Bought three tickets for me and the kids. Thought the pricing was very reasonable to be fair. Looking forward to it - with sir Bacon's recent comments it sounds like it will be a proper, competitive game!

For me it boils down to why you watch city. I watch city because I want to watch them play. I've watched shite friendlys at Port Vale, Rochdale, Stockport, etc... Not for glory or to be a better fan, I watch it because I want to watch city play.

I'll be at wembley because I want to watch city play, the fact that it is classed as a 'final' to win a bit of silver is a bonus.

People are calling this a meaningless friendly, well you're wrong. This is one of the 4 honours given out by the English FA and it's something we have earned the right to play for.

Go or don't I couldn't give a monkeys. I'll be there singing my heart out and jumping up and down if we win or feeling gutted if we lose.

But those who don't go because 'it means nothing', don't you ever complain about not getting a ticket or low attendances for cup games as you are just like those that stay away from them.

Excellent post! I understand people are having to cut back with money but to treat this as a friendly bemuses me.

It will go on our honours list, join the FA Cup and be another win over u****d.

Plus I might get a lot of hatred for this but if I wanted city to beat them either in the Premier League or Community Shield. I'd say the Shield. Only because we have another 37 games to win but with this game we'd have to wait until beginning of next season n that's if we qualified.

Distinct whiff of ragcafe about the OP. Liberal use of the word "massive" and "you're only here to see united" type accusations. Hhhmmm.

When I said qualified I ment by winning the FA Cup, the League or finishing second in the league.

See how much of a friendly it is when Kompany is lifting that shield and it's another trophy on our honours list.

Seconded, 3 points for a league game or a win in a meaningless friendly that has no bearing on anything other than holding up a school sports day shield if you win.

Bit of a no brainer really.

Agreed.

I was offered a ticket yesterday and turned it down flat. No way would i do that for a real derby.
