Yeah as I said that depends on what they want. I presume Coffey and Soubry would be happy enough to return to Labour/Conservative once the current crisis is over.

I can't see their local constituencies having them back. Soubry for one is hugely unpopular in hers.

Depends on how much damage ERG and Momentum have done. People wanting by elections just want rid. This is all positive to me for as long as it lasts.

The majority of MP's are voted in because of the colour of their rosette not because of who they are, they should be forced to stand in a by election and stand by their convictions.
That would only be true if, once elected, they then only represented the people who actually voted for them, which they don’t (and neither should they).

They aren't representing anyone who voted for them right now, they got elected on a Labour ticket and those particular policies.

You could argue that the SDP - Lib Dem merger forced Labour to change and was a catalyst for new labour. I think we are a long way off from Labour sorting themselves out, it is possibly terminal. We will have to see what happens at the next GE - I don't see Corbyn winning one ever.

She's in an interesting position, small majority over Labour at her last election, but that was caused by a big swing from UKIP to Labour, if she can hold the majority of her own vote on a Remain platform she could actually increase her margin by pushing those 2017 Labour votes back to UKIP or the new Brexit party.
When you say unpopular in her constituency, I presume you mean among Tory members? If so their numbers are far too small to matter, it'll come down to non affiliate votes and whether she can insure enough of them.

You keep saying that, when it is obviously not the case for the majority.

Particularly as they have the Labour funding, infrastructure, volunteers and credibility of a main party*. Not that I think them splitting off is a necessarily a bad thing. It shows a lack of leadership and management from both party leaders, that is for sure

*this may no longer be the case but i am sure you get the point
