Life expectancy has grown from 66 years in 2000 to 73 years in 2019. It's expected to be 77 years in 2050. Healthy life expectancy has grown 8% too. Fertility rates are up with the biggest growth in population being in Africa. Europe is expected to drop as fertility rates are falling.

There was in Liverpool..... during the second ''Winter of discontent'' in 1978 - 1979 under the Wilson led Labour government.

The first '' Winter of discontent'' was in 1973 under the Heath Tory Government . This was when we had a 3 day working week due to the miners striking and was due to a shortage of electricity.

The miners strike was eventually settled by Labour who gave the miners a 35% pay rise as per the recommendations of the Wilberforce enquiry.

The Tories , of course, had their day of revenge.

The boats are a minor issue blown way out of proportion by the tories.Yes we need to stop people dying but that can be done with a sensible asylum policy, but do the boats affect most peoples lives here no they don’t. Which we should get now they aren’t using boats to appease the right wing and reform jumpers.
There is no link between boats and funding.

In 1945 when Labour took over a country that was -256% GDP , they used Keynesian economics to borrow and invest. They built the NHS, They built millions of homes, they created the welfare state, it produced an economic boom that led to a Conservative PM saying "we have never had it so good"

The post WW2 social concensus created the boom years of our country, we built Concorde, we were leading the world in innovation, but who lost out out?

The wealthy lost out so they backed neo-liberalism and created a state that is now one of the most unequal societies in the world. The wealth of the super rich and parts of Manchester are amongst the most deprived parts of the country.

The problem with Socialism is people with excess wealth will have to part with some of it for the betterment of the people.

You mentioned funding. when you say influence voters you mean Express and Mail readers. Didn't seem to sway them a couple of wweeks ago. It's overblown right wing noise, they will have something else to wail abot in 5 years.
