Nope, just got meagre savings
There are other metrics that come into play that mean you may still get it. Are you on a decent pension?

Good grief. It's not a tax. It's not paying an extra payment to pensioners who aren't poor enough to claim benefits. That will be extremely unfair on people who have worked hard and paid tax on all their earnings, they make the sacrifice only to be taxed again on the same money. As always it's the middle earners who will suffer. The wealthiest will no doubt won't kop for much as usual.
So you and Labour say it’s OK to knowingly kill 4,000 pensioners every year? Get in the bin!were we at Govt spending being 97% of GDP back then? Did we have record taxation then? Time change and you have to change with them - many documents released by Govt Depts the IFS and the OBR being released today will haunt your favoured Tories for years to come - they can no longer claim to be the Party of business nor fiscal responsibility
Again my post wasn't about the winter fuel payment lol good grief indeed Vic.Good grief. It's not a tax. It's not paying an extra payment to pensioners who aren't poor enough to claim benefits.
I get £200 in my bank account each year and think that'll go toward my 50% discounted season ticket.
Do you really think Lord Bamford needs £200 a year to add to his tax-dodging donations to the Tory party?
How is the uptake taking pension credits going to be greater? If they're not getting it now and don't know about it, how will they know they should be getting it, unless they are informed? How have they slipped through the net in the first place?

errr - not everyone takes up what they are entitled to whether its ignorance of pride that puts them off. However if you are used to getting £300 in November and then you don't you would surely enquire as to why. I'd also expect that there will be a Govt ad campaign as we go into autumn to point it out
It's all pointless. I would advise everybody to play the system to the maximum of their ability. Why work hard for for mid level pay for years, save some money and get a private pension to try and have a better than average retirement, only to lose out on help because you were hard working and responsible? We're not talking about people on £40,000+ private pensions here but people on much smaller ones.
