The Labour Government

It would be interesting to see how many of the retired this will have serious consequences for? Like on this thread, are our retired worried about paying their energy bills, buying groceries and keeping a roof over their head, or are they in a good position, no energy concerns, run a car as well as having a holiday or 2 each year.

I’m genuinely uncertain on this choice as on one hand I don’t like that people that can afford it should be getting it. On the other, I would hate it if it affected those on the bread line.

Totally lost the point of why pensioners don't like claiming cash and would rather freeze than claim but also lost the point about people saving money.

No one will save now and will claim everything they can.
If that means that the money is pumped back into the economy, surely that’s a good thing?

It's those pensioners who have saved just over the thresholds for pension credit .......the incentive now is to spend instead as they see people getting big pay rises and they get fuck all but £200 lousy quid a week state pension

She's been itching to do it since 2014.

It’s a fucking shit system and not sure it’s been made worse by 14 years of the Conservative Party. Hopefully you’ve got a private pension to help you through.

My mother-in-law, God bless her soul, only had a state pension to fall back on when she retired, but managed to run her home without any real issues. I didn’t realise the pension was so low.
