The Labour Government

Well it had an effect obviously, which is a great shame, but it didn't halve because of brexit. No doubt the last Government messed up big time with their negotiations over Brexit.

However as the saying goes, two wrongs dont make a right, and this Government appear to be ruining what's left of our vehicle industry, which was my initial point. One which you didn't comment on?

Have a read of this article. Its pretty damming.

It’s always the Guardian mmm

More to do with semiconductor supply and lock downs 2020 to 2022

So, here we are, another Doctors strike. I was reliably informed by @BlueHammer85 that this had all been taken care of, guess Starmer and Streeting have fallen short of expectation.

Add to that the fact that Jones thinks over half the immogrants coming over on boats are Babies, women and children which was absolutely naiieve truly stupid.

and to that the fact that Starmer says we have "lots of spare capacity in LA's to house the immigrants" Really Keir?

Furthermore Seema Malhotre seems to know nothing about the deportation of illegal immigrants

Once they’ve chucked more money at the doctors he’ll be back saying with his list of shit Labour have done which will then include “resolved doctors strike, not once, but twice”.

Thought I’d be able to read a bit on the new trade deal, gauge opinion and all that.

Will now have to pop onto the Beeb instead.

In other news, this is EXACTLY the sort of shite that makes my blood boil : the government about to legally require TV manufacturers to put BBC iPlayer on their TVs.

It's the government behind this. Ofcom are merely implementing the government directive.

There's millions of people who have no interest in iPlayer and many who refuse to watch BBC propaganda at all. Surely there are plenty of TVs and devices that do offer iPlayer so if anyone wants to watch it, it's simple enough. Even if your TV doesn't have it, a smart TV stick is cheap enough. Or any smartphone. But now people are going to forced to have iPlayer whether they want it or not? Disgusting, and worse, NEEDLESS meddling in people's freedoms.

It’s getting worse. This has got me incandescent with rage. Fucking nanny state.

Got some help eventually so not all bad. Nowhere near what I was earning at the time though, and I paid tax on it..
It was tough times for many mate. I'm glad you got through it. I was very fortunate to be working from home most of the time so not badly affected but I know it was a difficult period for many.

FWIW I was all for the government helping people as much as possible.

A few weeks ago it was Labour putting your shopping up, now it's the thieves! Make your mind up. Anyway anything positive to say about the India trade deal? I very much doubt it as that would mean you looking in the mirror and admitting something positive for the economy instead of just being a boring, whining git.

I feel sorry for Streeting. He's bent over and taken it, and now this.

The doctors are absolutely taking the piss.

For a start, so fucking what if their pay has gone down in real terms since 1943 or whenever. No-one has a god-given right to a rpi+ pay increase every year. It's like what, no-one else has had to suffer?

And to get what 22% last year and now 5% and be striking???

Do they think they can demand another 20%+ because the country is rolling in money now? What planet are they on??? The only thing that's changed is they think they can try it on with a soft Labour government.

Get real. The country is in a difficult position and struggling to balance the books. The poor sods will have to struggle on with their £40k, £50k, £60k,£70k that they normally earn. God life must be so hard for them.

How in earth they will manage when more senior and only earning £200k or £300k, I can only imagine. It must be so tough.

I hope Streeting tells them to go fuck themselves. Word for word.

Your're a funny fucker.

You love capitalism red in tooth and claw when it suits your purpose.

But you fall back on...

" No-one has a god-given right to a rpi+ pay increase every year. It's like what, no-one else has had to suffer?"

Are you appealing to a civic commitment to the public good? The ideal of public service? We're all in this together?

Why should the doctors give a fuck about everybody else?

You don't every day of the fucking week.

I fail to see any contradiction whatsoever. Doctors are extremely well paid by most standards. Of course they have the right to ask for even more, and to strike over it if they want. And the government, like any employer, has the right to tell them to fuck off. Which I hope we will do, since their claim is unreasonable.

How am I not being a capitalist in saying this? Bizarre.

I am not asking doctors to give a fuck about anyone else. I am suggesting to them that the cupboard is bare and to suck it up because they must, not out of some supreme self-sacrifice. Although ironically, what did happen to that bloody "calling" that they like to bang on about when it suits them and conveniently forget when it doesn't.

And your final sentence is as uncalled for as it is wrong. In my thousands of posts on here you will barely find a single one suggesting policies that would directly benefit me. The only one I can remember was me objecting to someone saying better off pensioners should have their pensions taken of them, which I objected to. (Not that I am a pensioner yet, but that could affect me the future, which after my 40-odd years of NI contributions, I found galling.)

Everything I ever propose is how I think we can benefit the country as a whole, i.e. everyone else. Believing in capitalism is not, not giving a fuck about anyone else. It's believing, rightly or wrongly, that it's the best way - perhaps the only way - to make everyone better off. But red coloured glasses fail to see it, instead pretending we're all money grabbers in it for ourselves.

Just how wrong can you be. I oppose increasing the top rate of tax...but I don't pay it anyway. I oppose a wealth tax... But it wouldn't affect me. I opposed an employers' NI increase... yet I am not an employer, nor employed. I was against getting rid of the WFA...that I don't receive anyway. I am all for reducing migration further... Whilst there is barely an immigrant where I live and it would have no impact on me.

You see? It's not about ME. So, no, I am not a "funny fucker". Just a principled one.
