The Labour Government

How can it make us a target if it's a deterrent?

Our deterrent is their threat as in we will also wipe your cities from the map if you even think about it.

With or without and without, we are much weaker, we are a natural target for Russia or China.

Why would Russia or China want to nuke us if we didn't have nuclear weapons?

That’s like asking me why 2+2=4 tbh Vic.

On that I’m moving on as I’m an advocate of being a nuclear power and the strategic advantage that gives us, especially in a world like today whilst I know you’re not.

Respect your opinion, just totally disagree with it.

How much US military capability is present in the UK is an interesting question, I don't know is my answer, although as am educated guess I would say it's nowhere near what it was 30 or 40 years ago. Several US bases have closed since then. At a guess I would say it's probably 3 or 4 squadrons of fighters and some early warning planes? I suspect we could replace that within a decade of increased defence spending.
The number of US military in the UK has reduced over the past few decades. The problem is that so has the UK’s capability.

In terms of ready to go stuff, I would think that the largest US airbase in the UK is probably comparable to what the entire RAF has based in the UK.

I would guess it would take far longer than a decade to replace what the US has in the UK, if we ever could.

Need to work with France,Germany and others on shared developments and help reduce costs. Will take more than a decade unless we really do end up in a conflict and have to expedite everything.

Why not? If Ukraine started a nuclear war, what would be left of Ukraine.

Let's give nukes to Canada, Panama and Greenland, and Taiwan.
That's the point of the deterrent as Ukraine had the strength to inflict serious damage on Moscow the invasion would have been less likely.

It really doesn’t.

Our own nuclear deterrent makes us a target and that isn’t going to change.

Being a major player in NATO makes us a target and that too, isn’t going to change.

American bases and troops here are an essential part of NATO defence and despite the rhetoric from the Orange shit gaboon, that too will also not change is my guess.
'our own? lol Please let me know the number of your supplier - -

There are more American troops in the UK than there are in the UK armed forces

Major defence projects are already collaborative mate.
