I guess the devil will be in the detail, but if we are letting US beef and chicken in, I hope someone is able to explain how food that wasn't deemed safe yesterday is safe today.

That’s what I’ll continue to do. Supermarket beef is already inferior to butcher’s beef.

500g of minced beef is around 60p dearer for me in the butchers, but it’s worth the difference.

Diced shin beef is also far better than the unmarked diced beef too.

I wasn’t talking about this forum, I was talking more generally. I don’t think they are being judged like previous governments were at all, the landscape of social media has changed so much (and some of the legacy media as a consequence) in just a few years and so have voters habits.

Interesting that they're ramping up production because what are they producing and who for? Weren't they going bust because producing steel was unviable so what has changed?

Assuming it's to do with security then it's great for the defence industry and their profits, cheaper steel paid for by the government!

I agree. Doesn’t change the initial point though, media has changed significantly and there is a new normal now in how information is consumed and consequently voter habits.

Started using a local butcher for chicken when I moved recently.

Couple of quid more but it's the size of an Emu, tastes wayyyyy better and last me ALL week.

I'm fairly certain the Supermarkets will import the chicken beef etc and have it re-packaged like The Red Tractor con at Tesco. Will then sell it at an attractive price to con the gullible
