The Labour Government

No, I'm not that stupid. If you don't believe me - fine, what I have said is fact.

Labour here Wales are responsible for the Council Tax at all levels, yes and I do have a nice home with very expensive unnecessary Council Tax for very littele services. Labour Nationally are responsible for the governance and direction of organisations such as OFWAT/OFGEM. As for everything else they will continually increase in price.
Council tax was invented by the Tories. So was cutting grants to councils so more has to come from council tax.

Blaming Labour for the governance of the regulators of Tory-privatised industries (and Dwr Cymru) is a bit desperate.

Weirdos on here mate …. They’ve all got hard ons for pensioners on £12k a year [emoji23]

Sad fucks

A lot voted Brexit and have the cheek to live beyond their ability to work. In a civilised society we look after child killers but Betty is getting what she fucking deserves. Should have had a private pension the lazy cow. Plus some have been seen giving their grandkids sweets the flash gits.
For balance though this is not all the posters, the others will just find ways to argue for Labour whichever way they go even if it means being hugely hypocritical.
The biggest no no on here? Saying your 'team' got something wrong and your 'captain' is more concerned about optics than decency.
If you admitted that then........ well nothing happens. Why is it so hard to admit when your team plays shit? egos are fragile. For some reason they expect an easier ride, sorry Labour is in charge, the other lot got plenty and rightfully so they were fucking shit.

I said after the election that everything stays the same in here in terms of debate(not sure debate is the right word). The Tory guys will attack Labour and the Labour guys will blame the previous govt. Spin and media narratives will be posted endlessly, questions won't be answered. Stories of mates, work colleagues and neighbours will be made up(listening to people on the doorstep shows people agree with me) demographics will be called out(the old, disabled, immigrants)

Basically they act like politicians who not many people like, why? Because they behave just like the above.

Don't act like a politician there is no need on here. We don't need any fuckers vote or approval. We should all be better than that.

"No, I'm not that stupid".

Well it's only earlier this week you thought the pensions had gone up £6900 so it's debatable.

You do actually know what your council tax pays for? But that is a local government issue and again not something that can in its' entirety be directed at central government. In fact, you're all over the place, one minute blaming Labour in Wales and the next Starmer personally.

Ofwat and OFGEM are merely the regulators and whilst they may have some influence on how organisations operate, their ability to influence the prices suppliers charge in an open market is debatable.

As far as the other stuff is concerned, I have proven that if you take some personal action it is possible to reduce your outgoings and why you chose to throw them into a rant about central government is beyond me.

Again, it seems that you find it really hard to acknowledge that most of your rant was just that, without foundation and actually not aimed in the right direction. I'm sure your mates Nigel, Richard and Lee will be all for the man in the street. In fact, I see Farage was away on holiday yesterday so didn't get involved in the Brexit reset debate.

But look on the bright side-you're nearly £500 better off already with 4 years of the parliament to go. Be careful how you spend it!!

Sorry to jump in on a private argument but no pensioner is better off, the rise is purely to cover inflation and only allows them to stand still. Bit like the argument used on here for train drivers and junior doctors unfortunately pensioners can't have the same.

"The "triple lock" is a mechanism used to increase the State Pension in the UK each year. It guarantees that the State Pension will rise by the highest of: average earnings growth, inflation (CPI), or 2.5%, according to Fidelity and Unison. This means the State Pension will never lag behind any of these measures. The triple lock was first introduced in 2011 and has been applied every year since, except for a temporary suspension in 2022/23"

So a pensioner would be "better off" when the rise was linked to average earnings, which if that happened, by simple deduction would have outstripped inflation. This is what happened last year when wage rises were high.

Welcome to the "private debate".

Inflation was the trigger this year.

Edit it was wage growth this time so linked to but less than the rise given to the aforementioned train drivers and junior doctors. If linked to inflation would have been 1.7%.

430,000 net migration figure into the UK in last 12mths. Which is 50% of what it was the previous year, but still at completely unsustainable levels when it is compared to the rate at which healthcare, education housing and infrastructure are increasing. It clearly needs to be down to the levels it was nearly 30 yrs ago, before Blair and successive governments opened the flood gates. 2.3million additional people living in the UK in the last 4 years.

So Labour have halved net migration in their first year? Surprised you're not praising them?

It's sort of good news but the numbers are still crazily unsustainable. And according to the news the reduction is mainly down to the last government stopping dependents of students coming here. How anyone thought that was a good idea in the first place is beyond me. So the reduction may not be down to Labour.

They do, but it aint pip like you unquestionably declared and it isn't a simple phone call either.

To put it into context the DLA for children application form is 40 pages long and the accompanying guidance is over 30 pages long, so over 70 odd pages. It's sufficiently complicated that parents are advised to contact the CAB or other support before trying to fill it in on their own.

As you've already pointed out, having a condition or diagnosis is in itself not 'sufficient' it's all based on the amount of care/mobility support required. So in the adult version they don't give a rats arse about the fact that my brother has DS, it's all about what he can and can't do for himself and they don't take my word for it there has to be professional documentation. Similarly for something like ADHD it will be the children who evidence the need for much more supervision and support relative to peers (or even relative to younger children who they might developmentally mirror) who will be eligible, not simply a diagnosis.

The DWPs own data and report after report clearly indicates that there is a much much bigger issue with under claiming of disability benefits than with fraudulent claims. Yet our press persist in pushing a narrative and a proportion of people seem keen to pick it up. I don't doubt for a minute there's people taking the piss but for every one of those there's legions of carers struggling along without the right support or tearing their hair out and jumping through hoops trying to get some basic support for their loved ones.

I can't decide whether in my lifetime we've become a less kind, uncaring population or whether technology simply makes visible what has always been the case.
