More fucking lies.
More fucking lies.
More fucking lies.
Spoke to someone yesterday who genuinely thinks Starmer is a communist. Unbelievable.
I’ve got a better one. Know someone who once told me Sunak was a Marxist!Come again? There are many accusations you can level at Starmer, but communist?
It’s a worry.

Nothing wrong with not living in an echo chamber, mate. You need a better class of acquaintances :)
Will all be one company soon, I assume there will be steps to standardise pay? Can't wait until the Torygraph to get hold of our train drivers pay offer as i assume it will be the same for all other companies...
Background talks already going on about the aspirations of GBR.Will all be one company soon, I assume there will be steps to standardise pay?
ASLEF may not like it, but the logical thing would be to get back to the "link" system whereby the senior drivers get the best routes and pay. But whereas a steam driver could drive virtually any steam loco, changing routes means changing the type of traction. A sprinter to a HST may need training (and on new routes). Will all be one company soon, I assume there will be steps to standardise pay?
I know my union has started a campaign against increasing agency staff. Not sure if the others will follow. As long as they don't go down the agency route for "unskilled " staff.
Are agency staff much use? If working trains, do they know the rule book for safe working of trains? If Northern still has a staff shortage for ticket offices, would they not prefer to recruit direct staff as general purpose relief rather than resort to paying more to an agency?I know my union has started a campaign against increasing agency staff. My own experience they are just told to show up and do what they are told. Are agency staff much use? If working trains, do they know the rule book for safe working of trains? Are there really any "unskilled" jobs left on the railway since porters disappeared?
