Perfect window for the disaffected left wing Labour MPs who have been shit on by Starmer to attack him and it’s started if the Sky interview with John McDonnell is anything to go by.

I've been outraged for a lot longer than that, tbf. Mandelson's past is no secret; people have been aware of it for years. I would like to know why the press is doing a bit of noticing all of a sudden.

Spot on. You would have to living under a rock to not know what Mandelson is like.

I assume the media is using it as something to bash Labour with. Personally, I could do without the ‘shocked maiden Aunt’ routine. The current US Administration is rife with sleazeballs, grifters and assorted lowlifes which is pretty much Mandelson’s area of expertise.

Starmer appointed Mandelson. Why shouldn't the media and everyone else call him out for it ?

Media bashing ? Do me a favour. Starmer deserves everything he gets over this.

They can call Starmer out all they want, but every single one of them knew what Mandelson was like before, during and after his appointment and they also know exactly why he was appointed. Mandelson is a slime ball tasked to work with other slime balls. Whatever Mandelson is, so is Trump, hence he got the job.

I mean, who else were they going to appoint? The Virgin fucking Mary? And does anyone think it makes sense for the British Govt to dismiss Mandelson on the grounds he was pally with Epstein? Might as well just have the Govt announce Trump is a sex nonce. That will go down well.

If he is still an asset you keep him. If he knows where the bodies are buried in Trump world you definitely keep him. If his use is at an end, or we can’t squeeze any more use out of him you ditch him - quietly resigns in a month or two.

Mandelson’s appointment is purely transactional. If people want to launch a moral crusade then knock yourselves out, but spare me the fake tears given none of these ‘revelations’ about Mandelson should come as a surprise to anyone.
