I don’t if they put the money to good useI really do fear for Labour IF income tax rises.

Are you suggesting that if Labour had said in their manifesto that they will be rising income tax to put right the mess the Tories had created, they would still have won the election?
Well, let’s give them a full term to fix things then.So say anything to get elected and then fuck it?
What they promised as a fairer way of doing politics and that the adults would fix things.
At the last budget, Reeves said it was a once in a parliament budget and that the foundations had been set, the wrongs righted and that from then on it was on her and Labour.
12 months on and she lurches from one crises to the next as it’s clear she had no answers, fixed fuck all and was always going to keep coming back for more because of it.
Tories shit, Labour shit, Reform not the answer….
We are fucked with no end in sight from the pain inflicted upon us by shit politicians.

Do you acknowledge they have done some positive things already or not? They have it.
We all know now they have got about as much chance of fixing things as an ice cream has of surviving a heatwave.
Time will tell, but many seem to think progress is a personal thing rather than a national thing. It won't happen imo, as in "giving /trusting them to sort out the issues" as too many feel that they are unable to believe any politician to be anything but propaganda artists, liars and self-serving individuals.
You're right, we all have different priorities and will judge a government on how they deal with those.Time will tell, but many seem to think progress is a personal thing rather than a national thing.

More people = more unemployment when the people coming into the country aren’t specifically targeted to the need in the sectors where there are gaps in the job market.5% unemployment.
Highest in 4 years.
Further and faster and it’s all about economic growth remember.
I think putting up national insurance contributions has had a big impact. Companies aren’t hiring young people in particular because of the cost.5% unemployment.

I think the electorate should know better by now. Whatever is in the manifesto, whatever comes out of lying, dissembling mouths prior to an election is what people are voting for and expecting in the hope that it will provide some measure of prosperity. Had the Labour Party included a halfpenny on the standard rate it would have been the longest electoral suicide note Vol2!Are you suggesting that if Labour had said in their manifesto that they will be rising income tax to put right the mess the Tories had created, they would still have won the election?

I work for quite a large company now and we’ve stopped taking on graduates and apprentices

I work in engineering consultancy. We typically take on around 100 grads a year. This year it’s less than 50 across a business which employs over 7000 people in the UK. Many similar large private businesses are reassessing their complete recruitment strategy for junior and early career (EC) people following the move.I think putting up national insurance contributions has had a big impact. TBF, most things affect us all such as child poverty aid, faster diagnosis of ailments etcLike what with regards the economy which is the one thing that affects us all?
They have it.

They would have romped the election. The tories were (and largely are) a completely busted flush. I suspect they knowingly knew it was a manifesto pledge they couldn’t keep but decided to lie anyway. I agree with your wider later points about let’s see how they do at the end of their term but politics is in the dirt and deceiving the electorate isn’t the answerAre you suggesting that if Labour had said in their manifesto that they will be rising income tax to put right the mess the Tories had created, they would still have won the election?
