The Lords Prayer advert now banned in cinemas.

You're not kidding. I should hope there's probably nobody posting on this thread who doesn't think that in general terms we shouldn't go round being a dick by gratuitously making racist and sexist remarks, or acting in an offensive manner to people with disabilities, or making offensive remarks on the basis of somebody's physical appearance. But how the fuck did we get from that to banning a nativity play in a Church of England school?
Flid.

Well seeing I started the thread I somehow doubt that. Its about PC in all forms and manner which included the stupidity of censuring a religious advert for fear of upsetting other minorities.Power to the people, especially in Tooting.
How is it PC? They don't allow ANY religious or political adverts.

It's fairly clear cut. And it's a good rule.

Ha. I'll raise your Dwarves and see you.

About 10 years ago my lad wasn't in his school nativity play, because there wasn't one. Instead the school's powers that be had decided to put on a play at Christmas that was all about how good it is to eat healthy food. Yes, somebody somewhere decided that instead of the traditional nativity play, they would get the kids to do a hour long show about why carrot sticks and apples are much better than burgers and crisps. Because some people might be offended at having Christmas rammed down their throats if they don't celebrate Christmas.

You want the punchline?

My son attended a Church of England school.

How bizarre.

Not the same thing but at my eldest daughter's last school they played football without goalposts and nets as they felt that nobody should have to lose and they should all just enjoy playing. What's the point of football with goals? Scoring is the principle objective of the sport.

There's a Church in Wigan that has been converted into flats.

I don't know why I find that idea outrageous and really annoying but I do.

That's happening up and down the country. There's one in Bury like that. There's loads of churches that have been turned into private houses, one in a village not far from us. They have a great view from the top of the bell tower. The downside is having to give access to anyone who wants to visit the graveyard.

Plans to halve Roman Catholic parishes in Salford
23 November 2015 Last updated at 21:26 GMT

Plans have been announced to halve the number of parishes in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Salford.

It could mean 75 of the 150 parishes will close because of dwindling congregations.

The Right Reverend Bishop of Salford John Arnold says radical action is needed if the church is to successfully realign itself for the future.
