The luckiest City fans in our history

I know exactly what PB is up to. The cheeky wee bastard is after rounding up all the foc's for the chop.... well, you won't catch me out with that on this thread. No siree.. I'm 29 I tell ya, this grey hair is just a genetic quirk!!!
I'll just say one thing; Jenny Agutter. That's all; carry on.

I started following City in early 1970, just before the League Cup and ECWC successes. It’s all due to Francis Lee, though that’s a story for another day.

The last 15 years have been the stuff of fairy tales. We certainly have been lucky, but considering the shit show of the previous three decades, we deserve our days in the sun.

The calibre of the players that have been here since HRH took over is almost unbelievable. From Zaba and Vinnie right at the start through to Phil and Erling today, each time one of our stalwarts left, we asked ourselves how can we replace him, but we’ve managed it.
For Zaba, Kyle. For Vinnie, Rúben. For Yaya, Kevin. For Sergio, Erling, though I’m not sure we will ever see one, who can replace Merlin. Yes, Phil is fantastic, but even he can’t do what David did.

When we were struggling during our wilderness years, I took very little notice of the Champions League, as I didn’t think we’d ever be playing in it, let alone winning it to complete the Treble.

There is no question that this is the greatest time to be a Blue.

I can honestly remember (& it doesnt seem that long ago) genuinely thinking we would never win anything again in my lifetime,
Dont get me wrong I still enjoyed going to the games & the great times we had as fans taking the piss out of others but mostly ourselves, as someone already said this past 15 years or so has been like some weird impossible dream & to be honest if it ended tomorrow I would be more than happy with what we have seen (hope it doesnt),
I know match going fans of all clubs deserve credit but for the humour & numbers we turned up in when we really were shit I think we deserve our day (years & years hopefully) in the sun :-)

Can’t believed you left the last 14 PL games of 2018/19 off there. That was a totally absorbing and intoxicating run of games, given the zero margin for error involved. It’s all too often overlooked imo. To win those games, at the business end of the season, with an incredible Liverpool team winning with almost the same consistency (they only lost one game all season, to us) has to be, in my eyes, the greatest team sporting achievement ever, and it should never take second place to (for example) getting 100 points, especially on here.

Agree with the sentiments more generally though! Was thinking only yesterday that it’s been like some sort of incredible dream, especially given the back-story.

Been here before with you on this and agree with you 18/19 > 17/18

  • 14 x 90 = 1260 minutes of football. We were behind for just 1 of them at Brighton in the last game.
  • All 14 games we were winning with at least 20 minutes to go.
  • Only conceded 4 goals in the 14 games.

The only real jeopardy was the Leicester game, especially with the Iheanacho miss. We were otherwise pretty much totally in control. Peak Pep!
