That is one of the dumbest things I've ever read. I've never understood the need for more English players, the whole point is to put together the best team. How is it any different than saying: "These are what the NBA standings would look like if only points scored by white players counted"?

I'm not totally convinced that isn't their actual motive in this. Earlier in the season there was a big push to institute the "Rooney rule" from the NFL to help get more minority coaches hired. I can't count how many were flatly against it on 606, 5 live etc.. because they were so against quota's even though the "Rooney rule" isn't even vaguely a quota. Only forces clubs to interview minority candidates not hire them. But when the notion of an English player quota comes up those same individuals are all for it. So introducing a non quota system is bad because they are against quota's but an actual quota system is good. SMH.

Then further down we get this little snippet
