The Mirror

Bates must be on Sunday Supplement today.
He's always doing this. Makes him think he's got the "inside track," on the club and makes him feel important alongside those who can write long words!

Well if the club don't come out and confirm that Santa and the Easter Bunny are mythological characters then they must be real. What a pathetic and naive attitude you have, why not try a little independent thought or investigation.

Our media team will send a letter of complaint tomorrow with love hearts and everything. The Mirror will acknowledge it and if the Mario story is false, print an apology in small print. The next week they will print another story of turmoil at City and get the same pleasant letter of complaint. And the cycle will continue endlessly.

These threads often become a discussion about Vicky Kloss.

Would be good if anyone who knows could give us some more info on exactly what her job is, and the experience and qualifications she has to do that job. Because if her job is to manage the biggest day-to-day news cycle in British sport, I'd think you'd need to have some serious Fleet Street experience to be able to do it well.

We are Premier League champions, but we seem to be covered now, with less respect than before. Journalists seem to be writing without any fear of what will happen if they libel us.

Whoever's advising our owners that a a 'passive, friendly' approach to the press will pay off, and that taking a harder line will 'get us nowhere' seems to me to be doing a very bad job.

I believe are reporting that:
1) Mario is taking us to a tribunal to get his fine turned over
2) Aguero is unsettled and we're lining up a replacement

Now, if these stories are untrue, we seriously need to take some action, set an example to the rest of the shites in the press who like to chat shit. I normally ignore the press and the bullshit but these two at the same time have rather angered me.
Just like every other load of bollocks the press ever come out with we should ignore the fuckers and carry on regardless. We've not stopped progressing and improving despite anything that's been said over the last four years, nothing anyone in the press ever say will be stopping us ongoing neither.

The only time we should really take action is if they quote a named person from the club with quotes that are made up.

The thing we've all learnt over the past four years that almost everything the press say is wholly irrelevant. So we don't need to come down harder on them. We've kept improving on the pitch, attendances have grown, shirt sales are ever increasing, world wide fanbase is ever growing, we've crept into the top ten/five most popular media charts in worldwide sport...and we won't stop no matter what anyone says.

I think the club know the press are an irrelevance, that's why they act as they do.

These journalistic arses want firing off from The Etihad and Carrington until they write something which fits a little better with universally known facts.

Blues, please don't click the links to this shite !

Don't give them the advertising revenue.

isn't it Ric and Bluemoon that would benefit if we went to that site from here? Agreed, dont hit any links on that site as they will then benefit.

Many moons ago, the message was until we have success on the pitch we sit and take the negativity from the press. Lets prove them wrong etc...

Now we have grown in all areas and started filling the silver cabinet - surely, our approach should change too?

City is still a reporters supper and the irony is that the better we do on the pitch in general, the worse and bitter they become!

Maybe it is time to take a stand?

all these stories do one thing and that is strengthen the squads togetherness, ferguson has always used the seige mentally for a good reason ,it works.

it can get on your nerves at first, but after a bit its a big fuck em,united have the biggest following in the country, slagging city off will help them sell more papers,as a club we should use the 3 strikes and your out(for good),no paper will want to lose the inside track on the biggest adventure in world football.
they will start coming onto our side soon enough, just keep winning as we are and people will start to realse that "its another bullshit story about city".

That's exactly the point. You never see direct quotes. Whenever I see the words "it is believed" or "it is understood", I know it's total bollocks.

Positive story in the papers - it's the truth

Negative story in the papers - they are lying
Positive or negative stories in the papers with no directly named quotes = they are lying (95% of all stories ever written in the papers)

Positive or negative stories in the papers with direct quotes from a NAMED person = it's the truth (hardly ever happens).
