The Newcastle crowd applauded our team. Anyone else?

As I mentioned in my original post, Bolton won the league (second division in whatever guise) at Maine Road in a night game. I really don't know the year but it was mid-late 90s. They were given a very generous ovation by the Maine Road crowd at the end. Anyone remember that?
 
Didsbury Dave... I was one of the last out of the ground that night.

Clapped Bolton off but was gutted thinking it should have been us!

Felt a very long drive home that night... the future was not looking bright!
 
Were they definitely applauding us, after all it was their last game at home might they have just been clapping their own team
 
Last game of 86/87 season West Ham away,we got relegated and they all got on the pitch at the end and came over to City end,thought it was going to erupt but they all started clapping City and singing 'loyal supporters' quite surreal as still a nasty place to go back then
 
Can remember when Arsenal beat us 5-1 or something at Maine Road, think it was the invincible year or around that. Totally battered us and people were clapping pretty much every goal they scored. They were 4-0 up at half time!

Definitely appauding City. It was the point went City went "en-masse" to salute the fans.
 
One of the best teams ever to play at Maine Road that day they were on fire, Had to clap every goal they were fantastic on the day.

Arsenal fans would so well to remember that evening when displaying banners proclaiming: "you can't buy class".
 
a massive pissed up rag came up to me in Ashton bus station on the way home from the QPR game and shook my hand and said we deserved it!! i just said "thanks mate", bit gobsmacked i was!!
