The NHS

The tories have managed to oversee the worst waiting times since records began, still the 50,000 new nurses will sort that...oh wait 19.500 are already here and the rest won't be coming or staying

@Chippy_boy in your very first post you said

People who work there are all "angels" or "heros" or whatever. Despite the fact they *chose* to go into the profession and they get paid for doing so. They weren't press-ganged into it. But dare to suggest that some nurses are lazy sods for whom picking up crap off the floor or doing some other actually important task, is beneath them.

Don't quote me on this subject again please

You really don't get it about this 50,000 thing do you. Over the past 5 years, 160,000 nurses have left the profession and 160,000 have joined it. If we have only 135,000 leave over the next 5 years, and we recruit 185,000 then we will have 50,000 more nurses.

And as to waiting times etc, we've had this thing called austerity, Karen. You may have heard of it? You know, the thing where the country had less money to spend? Do you suggest we should have pared back the police force a bit harder, and shut a few more libraries. How about getting rid of some teachers? Just so we could give the NHS even more.

The cuts have been tough. We get it. Peoples' taxes have gone up as well, and no-one's had a decent pay rise in ages. Most of us have had to suck it up and get on with it. This is what happens when the economy is fucked. Labour want to fuck it up all over again.

No he promises 50,000 new nurses,it's been picked apart by every man and his dog,he has picked a number to use as a sound bite,he has broken it down and the very premise it's 50,000 new nurses is laughable
He’s promised 31k with 19k retained... he said so explicitly in the debate last night

Yes he is now but until everyone took it apart him and his ministers insisted it was 50,000 new, even when it was pointed out 19,000 are already here and he has no influence on who stays or getting 12,000 immigrants in ,he has backed down now,it's still a lie,a soundbite,a big announcement to make the public think 50,000 new nurses were coming, look back at when he announced it not what he said last night

It's 50,000 more nurses Karen. What is it with your relentless criticism? Listen to the bloody BBC explanation I linked for Christ's sake.

We have 280,000. Tories are promising 330,000. How many more is that?

The Tories promises are worth nothing. Do you believe their promises...really?

They do not give a fuck about the NHS or infact about anything or anybody other than themselves and their like.

I can only assume that you are in reasonable health. If you had any illness or condition that required medical care you would never in a million years vote Tory. Karen and others including myself have bitter experience of the state of the NHS and know who is responsible for it.

Sorry if I offend anyone but in this instance I make no apologies at all for saying this. Anyone voting Tory should be utterly ashamed of themselves. Likewise anyone voting Labour though if nothing else there would be some improvement of the NHS with a Labour government, even the shower of shit that are the current Labour party.
