Gabriel Fernando to United unless he's just winding people up. Tweeted himself watching MUTV and said he was going to watch United U21s last night against Liverpool (which United lost 4-2, while City were playing). Such an arrogant young diva is well suited to United. City youth guy on Twitter said (OK, implied) the English kids in his age group are better than him anyway.

I reckon he is going to them, been suggesting this for a while, but who ever he goes to, it is no loss to City. If City really wanted him they would of fought for him I would of thought! We do not need arrogant people who have not even made it yet!

Remember Vaseli went to them, thinking the grass was greener! Where is he now......Ipswich!

What do people think of the Denis Suarez situation!

1. has he been given an opportunity?
2. do you think he should be sold?
3. do you think we should loan him out for a season first?
4. what do Barcelona see in him that City don't? (if all the rumours are true)

IMO I think he should go out on loan, if in the season he shines, we have gained from it, if it doesn't work out, equally we haven't lost anything and he has still played regular football. I just think MP shouldn't push him out without giving him a chance and not just 2 halfs of games in SA and video footage.

How can he go from being young player of the year to the situation he finds himself in now....just seems crazy to me!

Anyway, thoughts and comments welcome :)

You could argue he hasn't been given the chance, but then you could also argue what has he done to deserve it?

I am a firm believer that any player should prove themselves at their own level before they should be given the chance to play at a higher level.

Suarez by all accounts wasn't exactly tearing up the EDS last year so you could say why should he be in the first team, even playing in capital cup games etc.

Also, whilst in theory a loan move is what he needs/needed for all we know no one wanted to take him. I can't imagine the club would have rejected a good chance for him to go out on loan to just prove a point of having him in the reserves. If no club or should I say the right club doesn't make an offer where is he going to go?

Also, Pellegrini is not pushing him out at all, he would have spoke with him and if Denis thinks he has more of a chance at Barca than that his own decision. He might go to Barca and rip it up in the Liga Adelante and earn himself a move to the first team or he might fall and end up floating around the lower clubs in the league. He won't be the first player to have the "wonderkid" tag and not make it.

Only thing I would say he was injured during last year, so yes didn't perform for a time, but did come good again. He had one outing in the capital cup, so not huge opportunity. I can't imagine no one wants to take him when Barcelona want to buy him...so can't agree on that point. Of course he might of chosen not to go out on loan, that is also a possibility.

As I said there were my questions, and your response is your opinion all is good :)

looks like mailonline has been reading this thread...mailonline understands oh really?

Brazilian youngster Gabriel Fernando has snubbed a scholarship with Manchester City and is now set to join Manchester United.
The 16-year-old, who joined City in March 2012 from Sporting Lisbon, is an exciting attacking midfield player and it is understood that City were keen to keep Fernando at the club. However, Fernando has taken to Twitter to confirm that he refused a deal to remain at Manchester City and MailOnline Sport understands that he has been training with the Manchester United youth team this past week.
When on Twitter whether he had been released from City or if he had refused to stay, @Gabby_Fernando replied: ‘Refused.’
United are expected to offer Fernando terms to sign for the club and in doing so, the midfielder will become the first youth signing of the David Moyes era at Old Trafford. On August 12, the Portuguese-Brazilian, whose full name is Gabriel Fernando Morais Casseres de Almeida, confirmed that he would be leaving Manchester City after fifteen months at the club. Writing on Twitter, he said: ‘I would like to thank all the Manchester City fans for their support and the stuff to help me develop my game @MCFC.’ Since then, Fernando has dropped a number of subtle hints about his future at United, after confirming to a City supporter’s account that he will be joining a Barclays Premier League side while the skilful star yesterday told his followers that he was ‘going to the Trafford centre again for a meal.’

Going to the trafford centre for a meal so that means he is signing for the rags hahahahahaha.

I guess when I go to the Arndale I am on my way to signing a contract with City?

Can anyone out there give a good analysis of our under 18s and EDS teams? I know the point of these teams is to help develop individual players but I think there is some worth in also analysing the teams as a whole. I watched the under 18s game v west brom, and while there was some good attacking play, and of course great character shown to come back from 4-1 down, I was quite surprised at the overall standard, in particular I thought our defensive play and organisation at set pieces was pretty poor.

Obviously it's one game and I haven't seen enough to judge, but from those who attend these matches regularly how do you rate our overall standard at youth levels?

is there any truth to that story?

Yup, should be confirmed today unless they delay it. But it's a lot more than £1million - or will be in future at least.
