HALF TIME: City EDS lead 2-0 at the break in Plzen and deservedly so. Really impressive first half performance
 
63 minutes in, we're leading by 4 to 1, two goals by Lopes, one each by Cole and Bytyqi.

I really wish games like these were streamed on the OS.
 
Excellent - let's hope our first team can do as well as our kids today!

I wonder how far Lopes is off first-team consideration or a serious loan. He may only be 17 but the kid is special.
 
We really need to get Lopes a loan somewhere where he'll get played regularly, he's far too good to be in our U21 team. He genuinely could be something really special
 
I hope the 'holistic' approach is actually enforced soon and he doesn't become another Suarez. A lot of what had been said at the end of last season (433, Academy to First Team streamlining) hasn't been done yet. Hope Lopes becomes an example.

He's a great player and I've no doubt that if he played in some of the first team games this season he'll do well for it. Whether he features for rotation or if we're winning by a comfortable margin. I hate the idea of loaning players if they actually have a future.
 
Great to see the kids get off to a winning start. I know it's not the main goal of the academy but playing in a winning side is important for the development of our kids.
 
Bayern Munich 0-2 CSKA Moscow in the other game. CSKA are a very good team at youth level too it seems, their first team are going to be very tough for us to beat.
