Great performance from the youngsters and with Pozo to come back. I take it Hiwula, Evans, Leigh ect are too old?

Yes - born on or after 1st Jan 1995 to qualify - no overage players allowed(like NextGen & BU21PL & BU18PL) - max of 20 man squad named for each game. Also if a play plays three times for the 1st team in the champs league(ie 3 x 5min sub apps) they cease to be eligible(not a great rule imho)

I agree. Stupid rule.

Re Byrne being mentioned, he is a player I hadn't really noticed until recently, but he really looks like someone with football intelligence, always wants the ball but plays it quick & simple & creates stuff too, can hit a clever pass, reads the game, works hard, tackles. If the bits I've seen are typical of his performances, he is the kind of player who could easily be in the first team squad in a year or two. Very Barca imo.

Can anyone who watches the Academy regularly perhaps tell me if we have anyone decent on the left coming through?

I was just thinking recently with our apparent desire as a club to see more youth players in the squad (I mean management, not just us) and our lack of a more traditional wide player on the left it's possible an academy player could get some game time off the bench in that position. But I wouldn't really know who could fit that hypothetical role. I don't for a second thing they'll be starting matches but perhaps come from the bench.

Isnt Drury a left winger? and Henshall,where is he by the way??

Lopes is certainly a player that is versatile with both feet so can play across the width of the pitch - but there is no left winger as such that is coming through that will make it to 1st team standard in the next couple of seasons.
