hmm, thought Bayern youth team was really good. Hopefully a sign of progress from us.
Bayern's team are younger and less experienced and it showed. Good performance from City mind, they took full advantage.

City

Gunn 17
Smith Brown 17
Tassende 16
Facey 18
Denayer 18
Byrne 17
Lopez 17
Fofana 18
Cole 18
Glendon 18
Bytqi 18

Bayern

Husic 17
Gunzel 17
Leo 18
Hager 18
Oikonomou 18
Basta 18
Hagler 16
Eberwein 17
Gaudinho 16
Scholl 17
Markoutz 18

City: 6x 18 4x 17 1x16 Bayern 5x 18 4x 17 2x 16. Barely any difference at all. The two best players on the pitch were Lopes & Byrne, who are both 17.

Don't believe the hype, we were just miles miles miles better.
Fair enough, I was going off what the commentators(kept) saying so my bad. That said they talked crap most of the afternoon, they would throw in a comment("pity about the lack of English player" for instance) and then just stop because they knew sod all about who was on the pitch. So I should have known better.

Is Angelino any good? Only 16.
I was HUGELY impressed by angelino. Looked so good. Great flair good drible decent defending and a rocket of a shot, had a very good shot just tipped onto the crossbar from the keeper with an impressive save! He did also show some good vision and had good speed!
Fofana on the other hand has been absolute crap the last couple of games. The only thing he brings is his physique right now, he did impress earlier on tho. I dont know what happend.
And for lopes, the usual, great talent does however phase out of the game some times.

Look's decent and very positive going forward but let's see him tested properly defensively. The one time I saw him for the under 18's he was found wanting.

Jack Byrne's passing is pretty sublime for a young player. Far too early to tell what his level will be but there is a real elegance to his passing, à la Scholes.

I don`t get the opportunity of watching the EDS lads, but have noticed a couple of youngsters who stand out, apart from Lopez, via the OS videos.
For those who do go,how good are the lads Denayer and Angelino (the baby faced assassin) and can we expect big things from them ?

I haven't seen a great deal of Angelino but against Bayern he looked tenacious and skilful with a good engine and, considering his age,he also has good strength.I'm not sure of his height but he does look short, hopefully it wont be an issue.

Denayer,i rate highly,he makes the game look easy, seems to have time on the ball and likes to bring it out of defence when possible as he has the ball skills to do so.He looks strong and athletic and certainly will not be intimidated or bullied. As close to a Kompany type player as we have on the books i'd say.

-- 04 Oct 2013 14:12 --

He also looks to have the heart,i think he could be a future star, similarities to Wilshere perhaps?

Cheers FI.High praise indeed for Denayer and the comparisons with Kompany are mouthwatering.Young Angelino seems to have some energy and the ability to beat a man,but I do like the look of these two lads, even though its only glimpses on the OS.
