The only way to get around Platini's anti-City stance

This plan is entirely aimed at us - Chelsea, Liverpool and the scum have every reason to support it - we need to finish in top 4 this year to ensure that we can increase our revenues by competing in the CL before this comes in - and the add to revenue growth by all means possible - friendlies, spondorships etc

All this: "it will not happen - it legally will be challenged" etc is wishful thinking UeFA have the right to amend the regulations for their own competition - it is not a constraint on trade

We need to beat them on their own terms

If it comes in 2012 we just spend 500m in 2011

This is another post that misses the level of detail that demonstrates just how this is aimed at CITY

If we spend 500m in 2011 - say we brought 10 players at 50m each and that we were paying each wages similar to Robinho - that would straight away rule us out from CL as our wage bill in 2012 would be higher than our revenue - it might seem a daft idea and indeed it is entirely aimed to protect clubs like the scum and RM but as it is entirely aimed at us they will keep tweaking the loopholes to get it right

I don't know why this is being taken so seriously. Platini has been talking this sort of bollocks for donkeys years. He doesn't have the means to make it possible, though and even if he did, there'd just be a walk out.

Pam - who would walk out??? the reason that we have a CL is because UEFA caved in to the old G14 clubs who threatened to walk away. These are the clubs with the power because a break away league would take the TV revenue that UEFA need - this time Platini is not doing something against their wishes - he is bringing in something to protect them

Also re restraint of trade? this is not the case - of course we think so - but I very much doubt that the courts would be remotely interested in how the appointed management committee of a sporting body runs it own affairs - this is not at all in the same bracket as some big business achieving a monopoly or some Euro regulation on trade being infringed - which is wht the Bosman thing happened - it was against an established Euro regulation - this is not at all

when the ruling comes in.

There's no "when" about this, and even if there were, they couldn't apply it retrospectively. It wouldn't be too difficult to put the players on ten year contracts until we get where we want be, by which time Chelski will have sunk back down to their true level, which is a middling sized club with a mediocre squad and a smallish stadium that they won't be able to fill.
Abromovich must be skint to get this stupid.

1). There is no way this will happen.

2). If this happened (see #1 above), it would probably be tied up in court for years - we would have the biggest legal team in history fighting it.

3). If it got past #2 (see #1 above), we would have the biggest team of financial people in the world working the loopholes, creating companies and revenue streams within limits of whatever rules are made. As anyone who has been in business any length of time knows, there are so many way to "handle" revenue and expenses that it would not be a barrier for us.

4). There is no way anyone could monitor the finances of all of the clubs to determine what everyone is doing and if they are in compliance with the rule (see #1 above).

5). See #1 above.

Stop worrying and enjoy the ride...

So how is it not constraint of trade if it mandates it's members to do something many of them have no interest in doing. And I don't think people appreciate how quickly things will change over the couse of the next few seasons in terms of our status. I can't believe it will take us three seasons to overhaul one or more of them and they know that. Even if this is something more than a bitter little pipe dream and Platini power trip, and if all of this is aimed at us, well by 2011 it'll be way too little too late. Why do you think SSN isn't all over this like a cheap suit? Because it's anti-EPL crap by a shameless snail scoffer and it is going nowhere.

At the end of the day the CL would become a 2nd rate comp with the best team in the world that constantly win the PL not taking part, or we have 3 years to increase the stadium and bring in 15-20k glory hunters

isn't there a risk that this could deter players coming to us (in the future) if this is taken further or becomes more well known? this could effect our competitiveness in the premier league, so it is just not a european competition that is at risk.

This will have absolutely no impact on us, pure and simple.

Just bluster from the powers that be.

Whatever rules they bring will be easy enough to get around.

quote..All the income raised from TV, gate receipts, sponsorship and prize money. Money that comes from sponsorship from anthing connected with our owners doesn't count.

Yet to be decided

Erm...call me a twat if im wrong..but if thats the case then no club would ever make money ??

all these things that dont count are the ways that clubs make money !!

or will it be based on hotdog sales.
