The Post General Election Thread

i want to know why people are getting hett up over something they can do nothing about. not for 5 years anyway.

We had the scare tactics during the election, food banks, nhs on the brink, bankers pistol whipping orphans in the street for the sheer fun of it, every job zero hours, at the end of the day people looked around them and didn't buy it, labour wasn't worth taking a risk on especially as their policies didn't bring anything new or fresh

Let's see how it goes

I am not het up about it, I expected the Tories to win but in terms of the next five years there is a lot to get through and much of it very controversial

Well they voted for the wrong party then because the Tories have been spending more than we earn

Hence the need for cuts which you oppose?
This is very true by Ducado

If they make good on the 12 billion there will be carnage, they refused to say where it would come from, so one can only presume that the public would find it unpalatable it's not a vote winner with most people

This very true. Please listen to this.

Nobody expected a Tory majority not even the Tories, some of us thought they would do better than the polls but this was a major shock

it's called worry, and people never do that do they? Let alonew when their 'team' loses, and they're not sure what to expect.

I've just had a thought. I listened to Dave earlier on speaking about Scotland. He said something about giving them full fiscal responsibility.

If that's the case, he will take away the Barnett Formula which would play well with England but not the Scots.

When it comes to the next election, Labour wouldn't be able to offer to bring it back (and therebye get their seats back) because no English voter would accept it.

Fucking genius and it accounts for over £5 billion of the £12 billion cuts he promised.

As I said, genius!!

Good point, when it comes down to it will any of us notice any difference if Cons or Labour are in. I'd say more than likely not.

It's actually called bias, the left will carry on claiming all sorts of shit to substantiate their view and will never waver, the right do the same, on this occasion the right won let's see what happens
