The Pro Road Cycling Thread

Epic opener that. Hope Cav came through unscathed. Agree Froome finished on pride there, but can’t imagine him lining up tomorrow.
That spectator with the placard to get on telly - I’m sure those around had a few words for them.
Prudhomme will love that race outcome with Alaphillipe winning.

That finish was much harder than the profile suggested. Partially because it was raced so hard and a lack of control due to the crashes.

Pogacar and Roglic clearly thinking about GC rather than chase down Alaphilippe, who has little to no chance of GC. Wise as it's only stage 1. Have the feeling this Tour is going to be especially intense.

Agreed yep, intense is the word. Was reading earlier about the Jumbo documentary where Rog and Dumoulin were questioning Pog - I’d guess relations between the two Slovenians are that great!

Is Alaphillipe a better time trialler than Pog or Rog? If he is, bearing mind there’s only is it 3 mountain summit finishes, maybe he might have some kind of a chance?? Wiggo saying he might do anyway.

Alaphilippe isn’t in the same ballpark at TT, I also think the double trip up the Windy mountain might be a tricky day for him.
