Thought he was brilliant today. I’ll bet if he ends up on the podium at the end he’ll be well chuffed, but I reckon he could actually grab second! “Just” needs to keep work Almeida in the longer climbs.

Not sure he would’ve beaten Jonas today with another 3km but you never know.

Tour of Britain coverage is awful all round from the music, continuity, comms.....even the graphics are rubbish.

To be honest I think both the tour of Spain and tour of Britain are both not great. The motorbike cameras are impossible to watch as there bouncing all over the place on the Tour of Spain. I have only seen the highlights of the tour of Britain and it seems very boring to watch. Why have a king of the mountains when the clumbs are only 1 or 3% average ? What's the point !

Does any other country that holds a cycle tour have to deal with roads half blocked by cunts with their cars?

One ignorant **** nearly took out a load of them today.

And go get me started on the cunts who think it's ok to stand in front of them to take a picture.

There’s also a big issue at the moment with the camera bikes getting too close to certain riders, offering significant unfair drafting advantage. It’s not always obvious from the bike cameras themselves, but when they then switch to overhead shots it’s clear to see.

We were spoiled by the excellent coverage of le Tour de France for many years, but now we have to accept it will be the same lot that cover la Vuelta. That said, a lot of it is about how the French cover le Tour using helicopters and drones and have more experienced motorbike camera crews. Whoever covers it in the UK will get whatever footage they are given.

My lad completed the Chris Hoy charity ride at the weekend. He did 56 miles for charity, managed a chat with Sir Andy Murray on the way and completed the race with Sir Chris himself. Not pro riding obviously but I thought it was a good effort for a good cause. (maggies cancer charity).

The protests at the Vuelta are getting really tiresome.

Stage completely spoiled but great to see Bernal get a win even if it didn’t feel like a stage race.

Cycling is one of the easiest sports to disrupte.
If the stop the protest at the finish line, it will happen else where on route.

Been at the cricket today, so didn’t see it, but a bit disappointing Mark Chapman didn’t mention it on the Sports Report headlines on the radio. Top 3 podium placing in a cycling Grand Tour is newsworthy ffs.

It’s the world MTB champs tomorrow and I’ll bet a top 3 in that might’ve got a mention.

That was brutal that last climb and a big well done for Tom.

It was a real killer.

Not only the steepness, but the concrete surface. You can only admire those that can cycle their way up such tough climbs, at the speeds they manage.
