Individual TT today... from a Brit POVsome good news some bad

generally quite absorbing stuff

Missed the last two days due to being drunk London.

Looked at the results. Can Sky attack?

I too missed the last two days due to that there London, but I've got the highlights recorded so I'm looking forward to catching up on them today.

Delighted for Alex Dowsett, that's a huge performance for him and justifies his brave decision to move teams. I was feeling pretty smug on Friday when Inxausti moved into Pink....not so much when he lost three and half minutes in the TT!! (Which is odd as he's usually not too bad at them). Great entertainment that Friday stage though, the way Nibali got straight back on it after his crash was total guts.

I think Brad will be desperately praying for a change in the weather, because if it keeps on raining he aint going to be reigning.

Yeah good to see Dowsett win for sure.

The Friday stage was madness, riders falling off at every corner it seemed and you are right Nibiali has guts to get back on after that.

Will 3 sky riders in the top 10 give them an advantage?

Fascinating race, much better than the Tour

It could go for them or it could go against them, which is the beauty of the sport I suppose.

On the one hand Sky will know that they can launch Henao or Uran on the attack and the other GC contenders wont be able to afford to let them go away, so if Sky play those cards right they can create a lot of work for Astana and BMC and put some pain in their legs. The danger of that of course is they don't want to end up with a situation say where Henao attacks and Nibali is able to respond but Brad can't and gets dropped.

The other issue that could arise is if Wiggins continues to struggle with these descents in the wet. Henao and Uran may already be looking and thinking 'We'd be right up there on GC, were it not for having to drop back and help Bradley'. There may come a breaking point where they decide just to ride for themselves and obviously that could be divisive within the team, and make it more difficult for each of them individually.

Today should give us some clues hopefully.

I watched a bit of Tour of California last night, ridiculous conditions to be racing in, dangerous in my opinion.

Wiggins relies too much on the TT. He can hold his own in the mountains but if Nibali or someone else has a go I think he hasn't got it. Last year in the Tour this seemed to be his main attack plan. Last year Nibali seemed to have difficulty shaking folk off on the inclines but he appears to have got his legs back. Gonna be very interesting today. I fancy Nibali will have a go and try to see if Wiggins can respond!

I dunno about Nibali as an elite climber. He's certainly not as explosive as a Contador/Scleck type, and he seems to struggle when mountains come back to back. I don't think there's a great deal of difference between him and Wiggins in the mountains, neither of them strike me as someone who can drop the very best but they are capable of hanging in there when the road gets really tough. You're right though on both counts; Nibali does look to have improved a lot this year and Wiggins is over reliant on his TT.

Hoping both Santambrogio and Sanchez will come to party today.

Seems like i'm the only person on here who wants to see Brad win today..

Not at all, if he was to bounce back and win the stage today I'd be really pleased for him. I do find his style somewhat boring, and their are others riders who I find more entertaining and likable in the way they conduct themselves, but that doesn't mean I want Brad to fail, far from it.

I've liked brad for a while, before he was such a household name if you like.. It now seems that those who are into there cycling now feel it's uncool to support Brad as he's now so well know..

I'm also a big fan of of both Porte & Knees from Team Sky.. Been lucky enough to meet both of them and they seemed like decent guys
