Wiggins relies too much on the TT. He can hold his own in the mountains but if Nibali or someone else has a go I think he hasn't got it. Last year in the Tour this seemed to be his main attack plan. Last year Nibali seemed to have difficulty shaking folk off on the inclines but he appears to have got his legs back. Gonna be very interesting today. I fancy Nibali will have a go and try to see if Wiggins can respond!

I dunno about Nibali as an elite climber. He's certainly not as explosive as a Contador/Scleck type, and he seems to struggle when mountains come back to back. I don't think there's a great deal of difference between him and Wiggins in the mountains, neither of them strike me as someone who can drop the very best but they are capable of hanging in there when the road gets really tough. You're right though on both counts; Nibali does look to have improved a lot this year and Wiggins is over reliant on his TT.

Hoping both Santambrogio and Sanchez will come to party today.

This is why I like the Giro better than the Tour. There seems to be more folk from the GC willing to have a go, and there's more of a swashbuckling, cavalier approach! Makes for much better viewing!

Another great stage today. A great attack to win and 20% parts on the final climb made for great viewing.

Wont say the result in case any of you are waiting for the highlights.

Agreed good action again. Felt sad though to see my favourite rider a shadow of what he once was :(

Did anyone here the 5 minutes or so when Quigley and Kelly didn't realise they were back on air? I was just waiting for one of them to swear or slag off the riders, but they disappointed! Quigley's struggling quite a bit isn't he, not a patch on Harmon.

I suppose it's a quiet art to commentate on cycling when no one's falling off or they aren't tear-arsing down a hill but Harmon is the master.

Whilst watching todays stage i followed it on team Skys interactive chat on there website. It was very interesting. Caught up with the chat during the commercials so didnt miss any of the race.

Really enjoying this race.

Tour of California on later and Tour of Norway starts tomorrow with coverage on Eurosport :) Go EVB

'Tis bloody grim today. Not my idea of Italy!

Flicked the 'ole sky go on whilst at work to watch an hour of eurosport in my lunch break.. and once again it looks bloody bitter cold and wet! - Like you say doesn't look how I imagine Italy to look

So wiggins in big trouble again today then... Just doesn't look like he can get near niballi

Hear he's currently got a chest infection at the moment though, which i don't imagine helps him much, coupled with the shit weather too

Got to feel for him, the whole race has been a complete disaster thus far. He must be contemplating packing it in now and focusing on getting ready for the tour. I can't imagine Froome's too delighted watching the way this is unfolding either.

Somewhat surprising to see Sky sent six teammates back to help Brad, had Uran encountered a problem he would have been very exposed and they'd have run the risk of sacrificing both GC options in one go.

Ton up for Cav though, fantastic achievement.
