I would like Uran and Henao personally I think contador has a lot of mountain support and Froome needs it too!

Ideally yes for me too, but they raced the Giro and have they has enough recovery time?

I reckon the 8 who are racing the dauphine are pretty nailed on with whoever goes well at the tour of Switzerland.

Eisel perhaps for his power

Eisel would be able to do on some stages a bit of a mini Mick Rogers I think and really put some power on, he is also strong and a great ally in the peleton! Still think they need at least one of the Colombian boys without Sir. Don't want Froome isolated late on - unlike contador he doesn't have the same experience of that

Henao was running on empty by the final week of the Giro, and I imagine is penciled in for a big role at the Vuelta, so I wouldn't expect him to be in the tour reckoning. Uran is a possibility though, especially now he's leaving the team.

Alpe D'huez today!

Well, you say that; I'll just have to take your word for it, cos I saw fuck all evidence of it on the tv coverage earlier!
I know it was early in the stage but could still have shown it. Is it some deliberate ploy, to deny viewers sight of the 'holy mountain' till the tour itself??

Anyway, from the last section they did show, sky in control again, each rider doing their stint before peeling off, Porte gaining a few more seconds to secure second, and Sanchez doing his best Thomas Voeckler impressions.
Think Contador eyeing up a stage victory tomorrow?

Frustrating wasn't it!

I was really surprised that Sky let Contador pull all the way on the front like that, I'm sure he'll be sat there tonight considering it a great bit of training for himself. Certainly looks like it's shaping up to be Sky v The Spanish Armada in a few weeks.

Samu looked like he was killing himself didn't he, but a great kick at the end. Dunno If Contador will go for it tomorrow, he may just ride for Rodgers again. I'm sure Porte may fancy a pop at it if allowed.

Porte is certainly looking top top class could be a real contender - surprised green edge have t made him a treble your pay offer yet! He looked stronger than Froome yesterday and will be a huge ally. I would put Uran in tbh I think sky won't get it quite so easy this year

-- Sun Jun 09, 2013 2:43 am --

Rogers won't be as dangerous helping contador though a relentless pace 10-30 Kms out was designed to dull the climbers and contador a best chance is a good old fsshioned cat and mouse tour rather than relentless sky train

There is a decent english live stream for tour de suisse here now.

Watched the Dauphine earlier on it. Wont say the result in case anyone is waiting for highlights later.

So Froome wins the Dauphine. Its deja vu for Sky. He looked imperious today on what was a really tough stage. Good to see Talansky finally show form after his illness.

What i found fascinating today was Froome working for Porte to try and get him the stage win and Contador holding back after his attack to pick Rogers up and try and keep him on the podium.

Meanwhile over at the Tour De Suisse, we saw a brilliant performance by young Josh Edmonson and Dombrowski for Sky, they look real talent. Hejsdal looks like he will be ready for the TdF and Saxo have a good team there lead by Kreuziger. Dan Martin also rode very well. Garmin could have quite a team for the TdF too.

Yeah nice to see the teamwork in action from the big guys at the Dauphine.

Disappointed to miss the Tour De Suisse stage but glad to see Edmonson and Dombrowski went well. No signs of life from Andy Schleck? How did Pinot look?

Schleck was dropped early on the final climb. Pinot had a good day and was right up with leaders and finished 3rd. Mollema took the stage with Frank of BMC second. Pinot is now 5th overall, Schleck is 56th at 4m 11s
