The Pro Road Cycling Thread

Looks good that Rascal. I've been enjoying watching the Elite circuit stuff on Eurosport, interesting to see how the racing works at domestic level and get to see the UK riders.

Yeah mate i have enjoyed them too and its great to see they are well supported.

I think London are trying to get an established UK classic going. Its a tough route and 8 world tour teams have entered. I would have hoped Sky being British would have put in a stronger team than they have mind. I know its not always possible but if Wiggo or Froome were in the team i would have expcted the crowds to be enormous.

Transfer season has started. Gallopin will move to Lotto while Quintana will be joined at Movistar by his younger brother, with Rui Costa likely to make way.

Ride London seemed like a success, the Women's race was great, action all the way.

I dont get Uran going to OPQS, they are building around Cav, he wont get much support in the mountains.

The Tour of Utah is on tonight at 10pm

Last night they delayed it because of tennis but i got a eurosport feed here

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.procyclinglive.com/livestream/#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.procyclinglive.com/livestream/#</a>

The wide roads made it appear very different to European racing

I recorded the Tour of Utah twice and each time got an hour worth of LTA tennis instead, which, even though I'm a tennis fan, was a bit annoying.

The compensation however has come in the form of the absolutely breathtaking scenery on display at the Arctic race. I hope they persist with this one and grow it in the coming years because it is some sight to behold.

Not too long to the Vuelta now and it looks like a strong start list taking shape :) Talking of start lists, Tour of Britain will have none other than Mr Quintana on their's this year!

Yeah Eurosport have been very annoying with coverage i agree. But caught a stage of the Artic race the other morning and although the racing wasnt great the scenary was magnificent. I hope it grows too as its such a wonderful setting.

I saw Quintana is doing the ToB and missing the Vuelta. Looks like the ToB is becoming an important warm up race for the Worlds as Wiggo is down to race and it would be interesting indeed if Sky picked Froome as well with the other Brits onboard.

Looks like our Sky team picks for the Vuelta are miles off too as Drombowski, Boswell, Edmondson, Porte are all racing in America instead. So looking at a Sky team maybe of Henao, Uran, Lopez, Cataldo, Zandio, Knees, Kiriyenka,Rowe and perhaps Swifty.

Eneco tour next week and Brads is riding in that. I expect that it will be pretty flat parcours that?

Not sure to be honest with you, I think it's normally predominantly flat/medium lumps, but I could be wide of the mark on that one.

Regarding the Tour Of Britain I think you're right, it's now positioned quite smartly in the calender and that should help to attract more and more big names if the crowds come out in force. Exciting times.

The Euskatel riders loved it last year as they said the support was awesome.

With the Tour starting in Yorkshire next year i think it will get bigger and bigger and its postioning is ideal for the worlds. I hope the British riders embrace it more than they did in RideLondon though. The ToB needs our superstars to support it so thats means Cav, Brad, Froome etc must race it and if need be pressure their teams to do so. I understand that aint always possible but if cycling is to become a huge sport in this country they need to pave the way and if they sign up to ride others like Quintana and maybe Sagan, Kittel etc will also come to the party.

I was watching the stage of the Artic tour and i thought to myself who wouldnt love to watch the stage through the lakes or the stage to LLanberis or the MTF on Exmoor as they are all beautiful too.

The Vuelta starts this weekend!! (I'm excited can you tell). Are we going to have a separate thread again?

Looking at the confirmed teams thus far, there's some very entertaining and attacking riders showing up. I'm really interested to see what Betancur might achieve.

USA Pro Challange looks like it's going to be good value too, some serious climbing to be done in that race.

Yeah we should have a seperate thread i reckon and is there a possibility we can do fantasy teams again?

Have to say i really enjoyed the Eneco tour, some superb racing in that.
