Hardknott pass would be brilliant. Its the steepest road in Britain at 30%
I know I live at the bottom of it at times, fun drive in winter.

I drove it a few years back. At the bottom i had to stop as my brakes were overheating and stinking. I drove from the coast side and it is spectacular coming over the top with its views.

Would love to see Winnats pass nr Castleton included one year too as thats 28% and haunted apparently :))
Did you stop and have a look at the roman fort, it's quite interesting

Wiggo going around the corners very gingerly today... once your bottle goes (after the Giro this would seem to be the case for Brad) its time to quit - or go back to the track, no coincidence there then.

Or just focus on time trials it seems!!

He was certainly flying at some points mate!! Marcus Backstedt did also say on comms, he thought Brad was taking it easy in the turns, after the race Brad said he was trying to gain every second he could, so there is some discourse

Like i said before the worlds will be really interesting this year.

And he still smashed them, maybe he hasnt lost his bottle then ;-S

The world TT is going to be interesting stuff.

He said on interview he had ben out practiscing the roundabouts in the morning and seeing what speed he was comfy at. Started at 30, then 40 then 50 kmh. Attention to detail perhaps.

But he nailed it big time and i was delighted for him as he has had some stick this year. Hope he wins the ToB and the world ITT

I thought Dowsett appeared to be taking the turns very slowly too, so perhaps it was a combination of all the riders being cautious in the conditions and the TV cameras not properly representing how fast they were going. That first section was relatively tight as well so that will have been a factor. Good ride from Simon Yates again, justifying some of the hype already.

Was it worth turning up for Nervous Nedum?

Missed todays stage live and just caught ITV4 highlights. Looked a real quality race. Wiggo riding upto Marin and Quintana on Penn Y pass was quality. Its not to steep that road but fair play to him.

Having not watched it live the snippets i got had Cav riding on the Skytrain everytime. A pact perhaps? You ride with us and take the bonus secs on offer?

It was a great day out if I'm being honest, I really enjoyed it. I've never been to anything like it before so it was all new to me. I got there a good couple of hours before the riders started and watched all the team buses turn up and start unpacking the bikes. Was like Aladdins cave in some of them, packed full of stuff!

Then the riders turned up in the cars and it went a bit crazy for a while, and eventually some of them meandered out for a warm-up. I was genuinely shocked with how close you could get and how chatty they all were. Eventually I wandered up to the last few corners inside the final kilometre and spent a few hours there taking pictures and cheering the riders on.

Overall, an enjoyable afternoon watching some top quality sport!

Say that after you've ridden up it! ;) I'm going to give it a go next week, see how far off the pros I really am.

I think Cav was just keeping out of trouble and waiting in prime position hoping that Sky would pull it back together. Worked a treat, was a fantastic last 10km.
